GNE: I agree with you about the field trip scene. He did seem almost embarassed by her and the one time she seemed really snippy with him that I remember was when he was trying to buckle her up and she snapped "I got it."

Nena & I were just discussing this a few minutes ago. She reminded me that Edward was still trying to convince Bella that she needed to stay away from him. Remember how he told her there were no seats left on the bus? Nena's point was that in the book we have pages to explain how Edward & Bella feel, but we can't have that for obvious reasons in a movie, so instead the characters have to portray the feelings as best as they can with their expressions and words. Nena explained it better.

Edwars ditching wasn't really the issue, but the fact that he allowed Bella to. He was always so concerned about her education. I was a little tired writing that, and I might have been slightly incoherent and been shattered in the explanations.

As someone else mentioned, I too would have liked an explanation of the Cullen Chrest.
And for the shoe, I would have liked to hear Edward say he'd make sure she didn't fall, it was one of the few things I liked about him in the book (I didn't come around until I read Midnight Sun)

He was actually trying to get her to cut with him on the day they did blood typing. "Sometimes cutting is healthy" or something like that. It didn't look after school to me. To me it looked like they just wandered off campus between classes.

I thought it was panchetta, not raw bacon. And it was Emril on TV to my best recollection.

I really wish they had included the blood-typing scene. It was one of my favourites...i love the thought of Edward carrying her across campus to the nurse's office...it really speaks to my inner romantic.

I questioned the bacon/pancetta at first, but then later i thought that Emmett was chopping onions and was throwing them into the salad. I'll have to watch that part closely when I go see it again tonight. (I'm going with two friends who haven't read the books; one of whom said she's only going to watch my reactions.)

The more I watch the movie, the more I love Charlie. I thought he was outstanding the first time i saw it, but he grows on me more and more every time I see it.

The scene at the restaurant still cracks me up when Bella says she needs answers and Edward replies with "yes, no, to get to the other side, 1.77..." I love that line! Oh and the "Money, sex, money, sex, cat..."

Variety, I don't have any easy answers for your 11 year old. Recently in the news here was a case of a grade 9 boy who ran away from home because his parents took away his X-box from him because he was playing it too much. He was found dead a week later - he fell from a tree and his injuries killed him. It's quite sad, and his parents are beside themselves because they didn't realize how key to his identity his gaming was.

Hey all, I am new to here I am 22, married and have a 2 year old. I live in Ontario, Canada. I have been obsessed with twilight since august. I have seen the movie 2x and LOVE it. I went with my sister first because DH was working and I wanted to go opening night and then I went with DH the following monday. Now DH is reading the books he is on New moon and I have been telling him he is my edward now he is seeing why I say that. Although he is extremely angry at new moon "hates that jacob kid" and is power reading until edward comes back which I didn't tell him was going to happen. I also am in love with the soundtrack.

BDB is awesome. I have read all but apparently the peach cobbler one lol. I love Rhage!!!! I have also read the house of night novels, 2 of the circle trilogy by nora roberts, 2 vampire academy novels, the night world vol 1 by lj smith, Vampire diaries LJ smith...I am a vamp addict.

I have only my husband and on aquaintance that I know have read the books. Its lonely without somone to share my addiction with I am glad I found you guys

Yes, pancetta makes more sense. That chef was definitely NOT Emeril; we watch him all the time. I didn't recognize him; he's no one I've seen on the Food Network recently.

That's what's most fun about books, everyone see them different, but on screen we all see the same thing. How we interpret what we see, that's another story.

Freaking OMG! I just started reading Breaking Dawn last night and OMG I can't believe Bella had a baby!. I can't believe she's changed and is a vampire now. I almost DIED when Jacob imprinted on "Nessie",and when Bella attacked Jacob for calling her child that. I'm so happy that Bella is handling it very well,much to everyone including Jaspers suprise. I just got to the chapter that it her birthday. I don't know how much farther I have to go but I will be reading that book again as soon as I finish it. Holy frick I was bouncing off the walls last night reading that book. When Bella started sleeping and being hungry all the time I knew she was preggo.Being a mother I know the warning signs. But I'm excited I can't wait to finish it

I think everyone agrees on this one even Catherine Hardwicke. I thought I would copy and paste her own explanation from my interview with her last Tuesday:

Q: Why wasn't the biology scene on the movie, the one where Bella faints from the blood typing?

Well, that's a good question, and actually it was one of the ones I was sad not to have in the movie, but as you know, we already had 2 biology scenes in there and if you think of how much time we have in a movie today, and you have the 498 pages that you have to squish down… in a way. That one I liked it, because honestly, honestly in my sophomore year I did the blood thing, so I can relate to that scene. I fainted and I had to be taken out of the classroom. But that scene in a weird way, it was another time when Bella was kind of "weak" and had to be rescued one more time by Edward and since we already had the van crash, the Port Angeles and we had the ballet scene at the end, that was the debate.

Have fun! I wish I could o to the see Twilight again. I found it better the second time and surprisingly even more the third time. That last time was the next day after the interview with C.H. so maybe that had to do with it. I got to understand the director's POV and the mechanics of movie making for a book adaptation.

I wasn't going to quote your whole post I swear, but as I was making my post, I realized that I had to comment on this as well I loved (Billy Burke) as Charlie, he is so hot. Even with the 'pornstache' . I think he did a great job and gave Charlie an edge. Here is the thing that C H was explaining to us. In a book you can go on forever to describe the personality of a character, but in a movie you have to "show" it, not describe it. To me in the book, Bella doesn't go describing Charlie that much. To me, she rather describes how much she is like Charlie, so you tend to see them having similar reactions on the different situations. I think this last bit explains Charlie's sort of easy going attitude on the events of Breaking Dawn.... anyways that's another story...

Anyways while I am at it, I am going to comment on Edward and his reactions in the movie. For all of you that have read MS, Edward goes through different mood swings... actually you can even see this from Bellas's POV on Twilight but it's a little harder to judge, because Bella is in love ( or at least on the beginning, head over heels attracted to Edward), so she fails to see him flawed. Where I am going with is, that Edward could have been rude to Bella in Twilight but we wouldn't be able to see that because , she doesn't see it that way. The movie is not from Bella's POV, they try to stay true to the book, adding a few of her inner thoughts but they still need to show every character true to form and you would think that with SM's advise in hand they would have character's behavior nailed down. Edward is so intense in MS, he goes through so many struggles in a whole semester of school that we are not even able to cover all that in the book, nonetheless in a 120 minute movie.

I loved this scene too, lol. We get to see two true forms of Edward on that little scene: his wit and weakness for Bella. Bella shows off herself as well, showing Edward that she is not stupid and knows the answer to square root of pi I also loved the sex, money, cat.. hahaha... seriously disturbing along with the face of the guy at the restaurant.
