Hey Amie,
I agree with you about Edward, and I am too a card carrying member. I like the idea of them making the best of the time they have between Edward and Bella, though not about what he will do when he leaves. I don't think they should show him at all, it will make it that much better when we finally get to see him in Italy, so basically what you said.
NM is going to be tough without Edward but I think if done right..please let them do it right...Then we should all be happy in the end.

I always pictured him as very tall( I don't know why), thin, narrow faced, strong forehead, large milky/red eyes.twilight1909 wrote:Aro is very aged. I especially remember the translucent papery skin descriptions, but I don't have a good mental picture of him either.
As a matter of fact I sort of pictured all them that way; oh and possibly late 30's to early 40's even though they look 3 gazillion years old.

I totally agree with you. Volturi shouldn't be older than at their 40's. How many vampires were changed when they were 80? Translucent skin and milky eyes are product of beeing still too long, not because of they are old in human years.navarre wrote:I always pictured him as very tall( I don't know why), thin, narrow faced, strong forehead, large milky/red eyes. A really good fan made trailer! This was a really well done video, one of the best I've seen of the Twilight fandom, seriously.-Bella- wrote:http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=AsghUBi81qY
fan made new moon trailer!
sooo good! I had goosebumps as if it was REAL!
Well, I've always imagined the Volturi like being 60 years old or something like that, maybe I should re-read NM for more details of their description.
Re: New Moon Movie ~ Take 2
Geez, 5 pages already??? And they haven't started filming yet...
At the moment I'm having a creepy deja-vu, I feel I've written this post before...it might be not a deja-vu but simply a fault of my very tired brain. If so, please, forgive me
Anyway, I think Hardwicke has stated clearly in the latest interview on MTV that they'll have more Edward in the film (you can find the link on the old thread) than in the book. I'm sure they're going to make major changes and cut a lot because Stephenie's story is really too rich and complicated. But I guess that is ok...it's always like that when books are made into movies. Besides, cinema uses a different "language" in respect to literature.
Regarding the Volturi, I was thinking about their age just randomly and something lit in my brain. They are really really old, so it means they were made vampire some centuries before Carlisle. And that means they can't be too old as well because the average life span was actually very brief. A man in his 40s was already old, if not dead. So I guess the Volturi can be no more than 30 anyway. At least, since Stephenie doesn't mention their age, I would rely on real history.

My dream cast as the Volturi would be:
Aro: Jonathan Rhys Meyers (he's quite creepy and he has the kind of soft voice I've always imagined Aro to have)
Caius: Ryan Gosling (I would love to see him play an evil character 'cause he's usually portraited such a nice guys)
Marcus: James McAvoy

Ooohh... I love all of them. They're probably all too "big" but maybe not... hmm... and James McAvoy can do ANYTHING, so he'd really be brilliant in one of those roles..

(Holy guacamole this thread fills up quickly! Anyhoo...)
So there's a lot of debate on the Volturi's age, which is never really specified, but aren't 2 of them described as having snow white hair? I think that's why some people think of them as old men... well that's why I do at least. And I know the other, maybe Aro?, is supposed to have jet black hair but I still picture him old, like the others.

To go off subject for a sec.....I rewatched twilight last night (online) and you all were right. DEFINITLY better the 2nd time. You catch more and you see more of what CH was trying to do. I enjoyed it waaaaay more the 2nd time around. (and that could also be due to the fact that there were no chatty people, or annoying guys sitting next to me too). I'm going to see it again in theatres tomorrow with my friend's son (13 year old twiguy! WOOOT!! ). I can't wait to see it on the big screen again and get the full effect once more!
