I really liked Valerius' book. There were lots of interesting problems in there to overcome, and it's cool to see how very much he changes over the course of the book. Also interesting to see how much the way other people treat him has affected/is affecting his personality.

Oh my, I read Vane's deleted scenes last night from the link I gave. I cried - it was SO good!!! I highly recommend you guys to read it. When SK first wrote Vane's book it was 800 pages long. So she had to cut some stuff out, these are the the few scenes that she cut that survived her laptop crashing. It is well worth it.

I read Kyrian's book first, back in the summer, and have read up to Danger's book, or possibly the one after that. (I can't remember the titles, only the characters whose book it was. Who comes after Danger?)

Haven't read Julian's book yet, despite it being first, and to be honest I don't plan to - I read the books too quickly, and I don't think I'm missing much in the continuous plot from not reading that one.

But, yeah, I like these books. A lot.
You are really missing several books. Julian's book, while it is fantastic on its own, really needs to be read. You are missing a part of the foundation. This is where you are introduced to the Devereaux's and to Kyrian. Also, there are several more pivotal books after Danger's. Read them! Buy them now!

Just remember, no spoilers. We'll announce on here when it's fair game for spoilers.

I do intend to read the rest - too many interesting characters to find out more about. :) I've got book tokens from Christmas - if I let myself read some of the extracts on SK's website, I'll probably end up ordering several. Not that that's a bad thing.

*Covering my eyes so not to see spoilers*

Okay, last night I started reading Julian... Book 1 (prequel?) I've read the first 3 chapters or so. I have to say, so far I feel like I'm going to be watching some soft-core porn flick... Please tell me the book (series) gets a little more weighty... Not that I mind some fluff, but a sex slave that doesn't understand a woman who wants to be nice to him... I'm feeling dirty reading it!! I'm guessing it must get better since you all read them and there are a lot of books!

I have to say that so far, the story, and Julian remind me of the Grossalugg from Angel... Anyone watch Angel?? He was Cordilla's stud when she went to the other dimension...

I'm reading these via "ebook" (Thanks crack dealer, CG)... Has anyone ever compared the ebook to actual book to see if it was transcribed properly? Just curious.

Lastly, I need to know these are true HEA books... I know that there have been many tears shed by some of you that have read these books... I don't mind a good cry, as long as I get my HEA at the end (think BDB). PLEASE WARN ME if they are not HEA's... I can't bear to cry that much!! Thanks!

Hi twilightmom.
Enjoy the dirt in DH1 (was it Robert Pattison that said something like "embrace the dirtiness" when talking about older women fans?) It feels at first like a "typical" romance novel, but I like how things get turned upside-down. It's also quite funny in places and there's quite a bit of emotional pain (the guy's pain gets worse in each book, I know, but for some reason some of those throw-away lines that Julian utters really make me sad for him).
I've noticed that at times, the ebook copies have what look like typos to me, but which could be lettering problems. I just read like the wind.
Isn't telling you whether or not it's a HEA book a spoiler? You'll cry but feel good in the end.

TwiMom, don't give up! Just keep reading, you don't think this many of us would lead you astray? Have some faith, I was very confused when I started Julian's book. Trust me, if you are like me, you'll have the "ah-ha" moment when you start reading Kyrian's book. Remember, sometimes the first book in a series can be a little odd, but it is the means the author uses to set up the series.

*snort* I have to admit that I was rolling my eyes when I started Julian's book, but he got under my skin. It gets better smutty wise and a lot more complicated as LadyDi mentioned, twlightmom. Actually, Julian's book is probably the first book in a series that I really loved in the smutty reading.

I'm on Zareck's book and it's very interesting. Anyone up for a discussion after I finish his book. Oh and can I say that I absolutely love Simi!

cullengirl, you know I'm up for some chatting, although be forewarned that I have very strong opinions on Zarek's book! I also agree with you that Julian's book is the first that I enjoyed straight away, rather than with increased appreciation after reading the others.

SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ DH1-Julian OR SUBSEQUENT ONES:

I loved Julian's book, but there was one scene that bothered me but also suffered from some continuity issues.
When Julian, Grace, Selena and Bill go out to dinner, Bill is very jealous of Julian and speaks very rudely to him while they are together. Aphrodite explains that part of Julian's "curse" is that all women will lust after him and all men will be jealous of him. Yet, later in the other books, women and men are able to be around Julian and not be totally taken with his appearance. In fact, the biggest comment people have about Julian is that he's an antiquities professor that is as old as his subject matter. In fact, his teacher-ish gear provides a bit of a chuckle when he shows up to help. How do you reconcile that change in attitude towards him?

I finished Zareck's book last night. I was suppose to workout and clean the house, but I kinda skipped it in favor of the warrior. Today, however, the house is clean and now I'm about to start Wulf's book after I hit the treadmill but wanted to post here before I go.

Crying count for DH so far:

Julian: 3
Kyrian: 4
Talon: 3
Zareck: 6

For some reason, I cried more in Zareck's book than in Zsadist's book. They both equally sad. I think with Zsadist I was a little more shocked and angry to cry. Zareck, however, it's just different...I can't really explain well on here in case of spoiling others. Once more people get there, I'll try to explain.

Good question, LadyDi! Here's how I look at it: Most unmated people are still drawn to Julian. With others, they still think he's attractive but not as attractive as their mate. Let's see if I can give you an example.

SPOILER

In Kyrian's book, Amanda goes to see Talon at his house for the first time. She immediately notices how attractive he is. I mean, who wouldn't?  But she doesn't feel anything for him in a mate kinda way. I think it's the same for the others. In the DH world, the mates only look out for themselves, in a baking kinda way, I mean, and the others just seem to fade out. Does that make sense?
