Re: Elizabeth Masen
I find that Elizabeth and Bella are very much alike in the regard that both were willing to do anything to save their child. But what woman wouldn't sacrifice anything for their child? Elizabeth didn't die for Edward, but she was so determined to see that he live on. She knew that Carlisle would care for Edward, in whatever way he could. Like Bella knew if she could not live on, that Jacob would care for and watch Renesmee. I just wish we could know more about Elizabeth Masen.

OT comment: I got a trivia question about the Masens correct at a BD release party, so I have a soft spot for them.

Thanks Elizabeth for pointing out the similarities between her and Bella! Very interesting. I can only hope we get a few more memories of her and maybe Edward's father in Midnight Sun.

Re: Elizabeth Masen
In a way, she did give her life for Edward. It was her desire to continue nursing and doing things she shouldn't have been that made her fall ill that much faster and die that much earlier.
The scene where Carlisle narrates her last moments is especially vivid for me. The pain ingrained there tied with this last flicker of hope for her only son.
