i'm sorry, i've been neglecting everything today. my head is going to explode and i don't have the brain power to do anything but hide under my blankets...well, it WAS like that until the Realtor called to say that they are showing the house tomorrow...so me, with my pounding sinus headache crawled out of bed to clean. i think i lifted the duster and i broke out into a sweat. i'm waiting for my brother to bring the vacuum over so i can suck up all the Knuckles tumbleweeds, and then i'm going back to the dark safety of my bed where the bright light won't hurt me.

Oh Leelan I'm so sorry! I was doing great today but over the last three hours I've developed a massive headache. It has those...signs...I hope I get home before it tries to hit migrane status. My tummy and eyes are already getting sensitive! I hope you feel better soon - nothing worse than a sinus headache! Maybe your brother will take pity on you and vacuum the little mini-Knuckles for you?!?

Vampman: Funny QOTD! Sorry about the earlier gutter references, Inspired, but once in the gutter, always in the gutter! I agree, just a pause in the conversation. I actually thought of a QOTD to post just a few hours ago, so I'll do that....

NEW QOTD: What was the best concert you've been to? (you can define "best" in your own terms).

My Leelan: So sorry you don't feel well... I wondered as much when there were no emails, LEX or FB updates! Extra hugs.

I had to laugh about the Knuckles reference - I call my cat's misc. sheddings "tumble weed" also. And when I brush them I always call the fur "a new cat!"

Okay...it's been killing me for the past month. So, I'm going to throw this out there and get it off my chest before I explode. Please bear with me... Has anyone noticed how much the girl in the "What Women Really Want" add looks almost like Drew Barrymore?? It's driving me nuts because I keep thinking it's her and if you look close, it's not. Grrr..sorry...I just need to know I'm not crazy. That really isn't Drew Barrymore....right?

Okay, now to the QOTD: I have been to many concerts, but my all time favorite would be Celtic Woman. Their show is just awe inspiring. Was truly magical and I just loved going with my hubby (it was his idea). Next best would be a tie between a Tool and a Jimmy Buffet (don't forget, I'm very eclectic in my tastes!) concert. The Pink Floyd concert I went to is a close runner up though.

Oleander! Aw, honey, I feel for you. I get sinus headaches all the time. My doctor thinks I'm allergic to my Baldwin and Corporal. I tell her she's crazy if she thinks I'm going to give up one of my children just to be able to breathe... as if! Which brings me to a different subject, but I'll address that later. I hope you are feeling better.

I think the lull came because we've been chatting on Facebook.

I've been to two concerts in my life. The best one was Josh Groban's "Awake" concert in February of 2006. I went with my younger brother P to this in Dallas. I have never been more excited and happy in my life!! That was the very best, most well-spent money I've ever spent. He did "You Raise Me Up" as his last song, and I couldn't sing because P was recording it. We sang in harmony to all the other songs, though. It was an experience I will never forget! The other concert was a double-header: Trace Adkins and Montgomery Gentry back in 2004. That was my first concert. Hubby and I went with his sister. We had seats in the middle of the 7th row (it was a small arena) and had a BLAST!!

Una~ Which girl in "What Women Want" are you referring to? Mel Gibson's daughter? If so, that is Ashley Johnson.

Hello Everyone!!!!

Sinus Headaches and Migranes are the worst. I use to be on medication for my migrane's and had to stop taking it because it always made me sick. So, Leelan and Una I hope you have some strong meds to help relieve the pain.

QOTD: The best concert that I've been to has to be tied between Motley Crue and The Grateful Dead. I enjoyed the Dead because it was one of the last concerts that they did before Jerry Garcia died. So that made it very special. I just love Motley Crue so seeing them in concert was a blast, very good show.

Una: This is me right now:  b/c I had NO idea what you were talking about. I even googled "what women really want" and that didn't help at all (as you can imagine). Then, I looked up and saw the ad at the top of the lavendar screen... AH-HA! I have just been ignoring those ads... But, I don't think she looks like Drew. Maybe to someone else...

I didn't answer my own QOTD: I've been to several concerts, starting early in life and going through my 20's. I think one of the best was Guns-N-Roses their "Use Your Illusion" tour. They played on and on and on, every song and it was actually really good. Other memorable concerts was the first time I saw Smashing Pumpkins - they were still a "college" band and I saw them at a small venue. It rocked. I also went to END FEST in Seattle (you know the one, Spooky)... Saw No Doubt, Pres. of USA, Bush, Everclear, before they were big. They were selling the "homemade" lemonaide with the lemon halfs in it. Well, after several hours of music, those lemons started flying and my girlfriends and I got caught in the middle of a HUGE lemon fight. It was a riot.

I've missed that ad too. I tend to ignore them now.

Vampman: Threads sleep sometimes. 1. Most of us are on fb 2. Many of us are reading.

QOTD: AC/DC in Jan 91 was awesome. Standing in line with my best friend (and my crush and his best friend) all night for the tickets, catching a nap in my crush's truck, and going to work intoxicated = woo hoo! The trip to Memphis was ..interesting. We had a police escort to the concert. I do not lie, folks. I passed out with my face in my crush's lap all the way home. (I don't mean that in a guttery way either). He & I never hooked up, but we did hang out together a lot. *sigh*

Metallica- Jan 92. I was completely sober for this one. It was better than awesome. They had no opening band. It was just Metallica for 4 hours.

Those weren't my first concerts or my most memorable, but they were the best.

Hmm.. the best concert I have ever been to was Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble back in 1986. I was 12 and in complete awe.

Happy New Year to everybody...I'm finally back home and super-busy as usual. But I always find time to read and write on this thread. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break: I had a lot of fun with my family and friends, in spite of all the endless hours spent on a crowded train to reach the South of Italy.
Now I'm back to work, both at school and at my dissertation. I wish I could sleep all day long: it's full of snow outside and it's so cold!!! Anyway, it's too early to feel stressed by either the weather or the daily routine.

QQOTD: definitely U2 in Turin. It was the Elevation tour, I had just met my future husband and I was with the craziest of my dorm mates. The show was absolutely amazing and Bono made a great performance, singing for more than two hours. The stage was spectacular, with a heart-shaped catwalk for Bono and for the acustic set. We had a wonderful time: good music, good company, warm weather and Bono just a few yards from us ;)
My second favourite concert was the opening show of Francesco Renga's "Camere con Vista" tour. He's my favourite Italian singer. He likes to play, sometimes, in small festivals. And he wasn't too famous yet. So, there were just some 50 people in a small claering in a park near Venice. Priceless!
...we are such stuff that dreams are made on...
