Hey i HAVE to agree with everything you said that gives you Edwarditis - i think SO much of what we love about Edward comes from his human influences - the 20th century elements of the common gentleman/courtesy/politeness/social norm stuff that common society seems to have outgrown long ago [aka: Mike/Eric who are simply immature...].Eternally Dazzled wrote:Hmmmmmm.... what gives me Edwarditis... I could go on for days! But I love how selfless he is, and polite, and kind, and all that good stuff that came from him being born in the early 20th century. He's so much more mature than the teenage boys like Mike and Eric who are also after Bella. His crooked smile (duh) *swoon*.
And the way he loves Bella is just so amazing. At least, I think of it that way. He thinks of humans as these petty and shallow beings who just follow the crowd and whatnot, and then he meets Bella, and he completely falls in love with her. The undying devotion he has for her, while the first time he saw her he thought she was just like every other human. Also, he's completely gorgeous...
As I said, I could go on for days, but I think I covered the basics...
And also what you said about Edward loving Bella - it is so true, deep and honest - i think if Edward was going to 'love' someone it would be actual love - not a contemporary superficial high-school sweetheart thing which comes back to his 1900's influence and all the stuff he says about being 'that boy' who would secure a girls hand as soon as he knew she was the 'one'...
XOXO
