I'm pretty sure It plays as Edward & Bella arrive at school "together" for the first time, he looking very smug in his black raybans...

I stumbled across this song about a month ago...(before I read Twilight.) The whole time I was reading the book, I was humming this song without even realizing it. It's a little sappy, but I think about Twilight every time I hear it.

This thread is awesome. I've always secretly wanted to be a music director for movies! I started this a week or so ago, but found I was using a lot of the same artists (because I love their stuff so much.)

Okay, so I finished Twilight yesterday afternoon with rosespecialist's playlist. I have to say, I am quite impressed. It really brought something to my reading. I don't have a problem with listening to music while reading, so I was able to have the music as the background or mood, if you will, to the words. However, there were times when the lyrics would break through, but it would usually be as a compliment to what I was reading. If you are able to read along with the music, I strongly suggest it!

I read faster than a page a minute, so instead of skipping ahead in the songs, I would often go back and read paragraphs over, or I would spend more time reading over certain passages than when I am just reading. It made me concentrate on certain passages more. It was like drinking a nice glass of wine and swishing it around in my mouth to really get the flavor - I spent more time thinking about what I was reading, instead of gulping it down as fast as I could, like I normally do when reading these books. I have read each of them about 5 times, but I keep finding myself racing to finish them - like the first time, I just had to get to the conclusion. But by using the music, I was really able to slow myself down and just enjoy the story. And, like I said, the mood the music sets definitely added something to many of the scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and heartily recommend this as a different way to enjoy the books!

I also wanted to mention that I am extremely grateful to rosespecialist for completing this, and I cannot wait for her to finish and post (HINT, HINT) her New Moon playlist. I have had the chance to glance (well, okay, more than glance ;) ) over her next playlist, and I am anxiously awaiting with New Moon at my side. I can truly appreciate the time and effort that she has put into this. Even if you just click on the link and peruse some of the music, you will see that she put a lot of time and effort into this project.

And the songs she picks are awesome!! :D

Slightly Torn Page - Thanks for the music suggestion! I really like it. But there's one major problem - I can't find it on playlist.com! (Although I found it (and purchased it!) on iTunes.) and if I can't find it on playlist.com, then I'm probably not going to be able to use it for my purposes of this shareable playlist. (But I have a place for it in my head in Eclipse if you're interested... *tease* PM me!)

Adamcore and Liezieweizie - Thanks!! I was wondering about that...

Spiidermonkey - have fun with it!! Let me know what you think!

Jettabugfox. Oh, Jettabugfox. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the in-depth review (and for posting it so others can see it rather than keeping it between us!). You've been such a great help to me on this project! I really, truly appreciate the generous amounts of time you've given.

Everybody give a round of applause to Jettabugfox!
((clapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclap!!!))

Anybody else have any reviews they wanted to post? Any particular song you feel really did or did not work for a particular passage/scene?

While we are waiting:

 1) Did anybody have any bright ideas on how to get an Excel spreadsheet to copy over to a post and keep the spacing/alignment?

 2) If you go onto my playlist.com profile, you'll see a partial list for New Moon... DISREGARD THIS!! It's NOT final and not even fully in sequence, but if you absolutely must get a flavor for what kind of music will be included, then take a peek, but with a boulder of salt.

 3) If anyone wants me to email them the Twilight playlist as an Excel spreadsheet, PM me with your email address and I'll get it to you ASAP.

I'm just putting the finishing touches on it. It will be up tomorrow (Saturday the 9th).

  Any ideas on posting the grid so it's more readable?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Well, party people - here it is:

New Moon Book Soundtrack/playlist:

http://www.playlist.com/user/41516318

Note: in BOLD are instances where there are two possible songs for a single passage and BOTH SONGS are on playlist.com, so when you go through it, you need to pick which one to use otherwise the timing will be off (or, alternately, you could just read the same passage twice and listen to it with both songs and then move on to the next one... :D )

For these passages in particular, I'm looking for feedback on which song you prefer of the two, but unless I get a landslide in one direction or the other, I'm keeping both on the list as it's simply a matter of personal preference.

LOL! I know everyone has like made playlists for the book, but I only have a couple of songs for different places in the book:
 "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon for when the Volturi want Edward and Alice (and Bella I think) to join the Volturi because of their gifts.
 "Issues" by The Saturdays to describe Jabob and Bella's relationship.

Do you see them working in the books? Please reply, I get lonely! Lol!
