I thought the cottage and the wardrobe and stuff was Bella's birthday gift...? Because thats when Alice gave it to them. But I dunno.

Maybe Alice's wedding gift to them was just...planning and paying for the wedding itself. We know that she ordered Bella's dress, and so I doubt she made Edward pay for it :? So that leads me to believe that she paid for most, if not all, of the wedding. So maybe that was her gift.

Lets see how well Edward can actually play chess when he can't read people's minds... Bella vs. Edward. Who will win?!

It just kills me that we here in the little Caribbean are not able to get our grubby little paws on any of that cool Twilight stuff....Hark! Shall I survive?...

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice

Hmm...

I bet Seth's wedding gift was something homemade, or maybe he and Sue's combined gift was gift certificates for bookstores and whatnot...hmm :)

I bet, as a playful joke, Mike's first gift is a box of condoms.  Something silly like that.

And his real gift coud be maybe a tie for Edward (maybe Alice told him to get him one) and a pair of new PJs for Bella? Something practical and that she'll wear again.

All I can think of right now is clothes... :(

Actually, I wish we could have known what they got each OTHER. Edward and Bella, I mean. In my wildest dreams (and I don't know where I got this...I heard it so long ago it feels like it's mine... :D ) Edward:

-Took Bella's lullaby
-Turned it into parts for an entire orchestra (violin, bass, cello, etc.)
-Took it up to that big, famous orchestra I forgot the name of
-Got "that big, famous orchestra I forgot the name of" to play the her lullaby with the parts that he wrote above
-Recorded them playing for Bella
-Gave her the CD

OR, EVEN BETTER:
-Took her to see them play it live

In my mind, this is like, the most ridiculously, romantic, Edward-y thing he could have done. Because, seriously. It's extravagant, it's overboard, it's romantic, and it's completely adorable. *swoon* And, really, all of those things count for him as the perfect thing for Bella. It's just so SWEET.

The thing is, why couldn't Steph have thought of this herself? rofl

We know that Aro sent Bella a necklace, but what else would they have received? and when would they have time to actually open them?
What do vampires give other vampires for wedding gifts when money is no object?
What would Bella's human friends who have no idea of the Bride's new family's connections give the happy couple?

I think that for your first question that E&B probablly opened the gifts sometime after Nessie was born in their cottage because noone would really care about them when Bella was pregnant and all that drama.

Alice & Jasper probably gave Bella and Edward a weekend getaway to the spa. Like booking the whole spa just for them.

Emmett & Rose probably gave Bella and Edward tickets to Paris or Rome since they enjoy going away for vacation and stuff like that.

Carlise & Esme probably gave then some antique home decour for their cottage.

THe humans most likely got normal wedding gifts like cutlery or things that you would use in a new home.

That would be quite amazing. and totally Edward-y, I agree.
Although, I don't think swoon quite covers it. More of a sa-woon. :)
I, too, did not think of this, but do feel that it is my own since I've been using it so long, but I do know where I got it from (The Truth about Forever, Sarah Dessen). Teehee. :D

the house was from all the cullens, wasnt it?
i imagine that the denali's didnt really get anything for them
since they know that the cullens have everything.
and the normal people...probably generic human gifts.
