I would say Twilight. My mind has gone a long way since, but I've gotten to a point where I'm not in such a frame of mind where I really like Twilight so much anymore.

Twilight is the original story and as some of us here think, it would have done better as a single unit on its own. New Moon and Eclipse were alright additions, I thought when I was reading them and getting into the fandom, but on further reflection, they really don't do that much for the story. Breaking Dawn was what I thought to be a complete disaster, like a bad fanfic, so I definitely cannot label it my favourite, although New Moon and Eclipse are better on my list. I like Eclipse just because of the happy romancy things that muddle through it.

In the end, the plot of the last three books seems a little obscure, really.

well as i already said, i like all of them because i feel they are in fact a whole split up in different volumes...but i think twilight is my fav cause i've been drawn in by the breathtaking tension between bella&edward...since my last post i've also read the midnight sun draft and i'd like to see it as an addition to twilight...nevertheless it's more a rational than an emotional experience (all the time you keep comparing bella&edward's perspective)...so twilight, yes, definitely ;)

I think its a toss-up between Twilight and Eclipse. I love the first book - i can't really give reasons why i do which is daft but its true. I do like Eclipse more than New Moon cos NM messes with my emotions so much that some bits are almost painful to read - although NM does have some of the most beautiful scenes in the Saga (Blackest blasphemy speech anyone?) Eclipse has more tension with the whole Victoria threat and the extreme tension with the Jacob-Bella-Edward love triangle so it is quite an exciting read.
Breaking Dawn - meh i do love the comedic aspects of the book and the fact that there is a happy ending but overall it didn't amaze me. I will admit i've read an alternate BD fanfic and i actually liked that version better than SM's but im not saying the other books aren't anything less than awesome.

Breaking dawn. Simply because the last 1/3rd of the book was better than all the other books! That being said, the first 2/3rds of the book where Bella seemed to be endlessly preggers was a trite boring....the last bit definitely made up for this and then some though.

I have a feeling in some future book there will be an all out war of the covens between the Volturi and the Cullen family + friend covens. I can barely wait for that to happen! I just wonder if the Cullens won who would become the rulers once more....would it be the Romanians or would it be Carlisle?

Actually there is another book to be written. But Meyers stopped because a draft went public over the internet...

It is very difficult for me to choose a favourite book in the whole series. I see each one as only a quarter of the whole story. While each has it's merits I do like Twilight simply because it introduces me to the Bella and Edward and their world. The interplay between these two characters in Twilight is fascinating. A real 'will he won't he' situation that gets you reading until 2am :D

Yeap but that book is just Twilight but from Edward's perspective - Midnight Sun.

ahaha Lightwish I agree with you. I wrote this somewhere else but it would be awesome if SM wrote another book. Maybe like 50 years later or a century later when Reneesmee is with Jacob and there's a showdown between the Volturi and the Cullens.

Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are tie for me.. Eclipse because it really makes the Jaco/Bella relationship develop more.. Im in love with Edward cullen, but Jacob is Bella's person.. Her safe place if that an apt way of putting it.. And theres more of an insight to Rosalie and Jaspers back stories..
Exactly my brand of heroine..

I'm going to go with Breaking Dawn. My absolute favorite part of the entire saga is in this book and that's what did it for me. My favorite part is at the end when Bella lets Edward hear her thoughts for the first time. It is beautifully written and I love how much it means to both of them. I also love all of Jacob's chapters, I love to hear him and Edward interact.

Second would be Eclipse because it holds my second favorite part, as many of you have discussed...the tent scene. I love how open Edward is when Jacob asks to be in his head.

I can't put any of the books in last place so three goes to Twilight and New Moon! They're all so good I can't imagine putting any in last place.

**I will add that if a certain other book ever makes its to published status it would definitely be my number one favorite.**
