I've never posted on here but I just wrote a poem that I had to share.

A sonnet

True love, a bleak and chilly day
And often dark and dreary
Too hard it is, you may say
True love it makes you weary

And too often you see
The clouds of its sky
The rains of its sea
As if angels cry

But sometimes you catch
A glimmer of sun
Like flame from a match
The light of "the one"

Though your plight may seem futile, hopeless at times
Your love is all yours, in the end it all rhymes

I like your poem, it's pretty. I write poetry pretty constantly, and most people can't understand it unless they've known me for years.

I laugh as the world passes by
You know that girl?
The one you rushed past on your way to some endeavor,
The one who was sitting on the bridge watching the cars drive past
and singing
and laughing
in no hurry to be anywhere in particular?
The one you mentally labeled as weird,
immature,
never going to amount to anything.
The girl you wondered about idly
for the few seconds she was in your mind
before being shoved out by whatever more important thoughts usually occupy you,
You wondered how she could be so crass,
so laid back,
so sincere.
You thought she needed a good dose of reality,
maybe you wanted to shake her
until her teeth rattled.
Maybe you honked at her,
or yelled somethung hilarious.

Or maybe you ignored her.
Maybe you thought that if you pretended not to notice her
she would just go away
disapear,
just past the view
from the rear-view mirror of your beloved car.
Yeah that girl.

Remember her?
I do.

I am that girl,
idling by with a joke,
a song
and a grin.
Maybe a token that was overlooked
by someone too busy to stop,
too busy to care.
The one who apreciates the value in a moment,
who hears truth in the silence.
The kind of girl that watches the world hurry by and wonders,
idly for a moment or two,
Where is everyone going?
What's so great about it, what happens when they get there?
And,
Why can't they see that now is the time,
here is the place.
That girl,
the one you called "crazy" or maybe just weird.
The one you wondered about,
she wondered about you, too.
She asks questions a lot, this girl.
Usually they can't be answered,
but that doesn't matter.
The fact that the question has been asked means that
there is an answer floating out there somewhere,
yet to be found.
The question she asked,
that day on the bridge,
while you showed your unoriginality with generic come-ons,
and the requisite "JUMP JUMP JUMP",
That question can only be answered by you, so pay attention, and think hard.
What happened to you?
To the way you used to be, remember that?
Finding solace in a sun-beam and joy in a smile,
where'd you go?
How did you forget to be you? When'd you forget where youwere going?
Why isn't the journey good enough anymore?
But, most importantly,
WHO?

and another one, that's also a lttle long...

Sophia and Lydia an expirament in p e r s o n a l e v o l u t i o n.

Silly sweet Sophia ran away from home, gave
Long lost Lydia an unwanted throne.

Silly sweet Sophia wanted to be f r e e
Silly sweet Sophia never gonna see.

Long lost Lydia laughs at the fight
Long lost Lydia queen of this night.

Long lost Lydia flexes empty hand
Long lost Lydia no love found in this land.

Silly sweet Sophia strums a guitar
Silly sweet Sophia wants to go far.

Silly sweet Sophia reach for the S K Y
Silly sweet Sophia don't give up, just try.

Long lost Lydia scoff and moan
Long lost Lydia where the trash is thrown.

Long lost Lydia BATTERED and BRUISED, saved
Silly sweet Sophia who felt so u.s.e.d.

Silly sweet Sophia ungrateful, unknowing
Silly sweet Sophia no more room for internal growing

Long lost Lydia allow yourself a silent tear,
Long lost Lydia remember how to fear.

Long lost Lydia promise not to scream?
Silly sweet Sophia is not what she seemed!

Silly sweet Sophia c.o.n.f.u.s.e.d and lost
Silly sweet Sophia remebers not the cost.

Long lost Lydia bite the hand that feeds,
Long lost Lydia remember that one's deeds.

Long lost Lydia limp away from town
Silly sweet Sophia embraces her own.

Silly sweet Sophia count those in your fold,
Long lost Lydia forgotten in the cold.

Silly sweet Sophia wish for snow.
Silly sweet Sophia never grow.

Long lost Lydia in a fetal position
Silly sweet Sophia has a proposition.

Silly sweet Sophia gonna save the world?
Long lost Lydia trusts not your word.

Okay, let me know when you get sick of me, but I have tons of poems and love posting them. My first Sophia/Lydia poem from ages ago. And for those of you who don't know me personally, Sophia is the timid and shy me while Lydia is the strong and outgoing me. Sorta like Beyonce's Sasha Fierce thing.

Silly Sweet Sophia and Long Lost Lydia

Silly sweet Sophia, daddy wants to play
Silly sweet Sophia belongs to him this day

Silly sweet Sophia, try not to make a sound
Silly sweet Sophia, doesn't want HIM around

Silly Sweet Sophia, don't let your self cry
Silly sweet Sophia, hell's not till after you die

Silly sweet Sophia, your body's naught but a toy
Silly sweet Sophia, young playground for an old boy

Silly sweet Sophia, finally embrace your fate
Silly sweet Sophia, put on lipstick make a date

Silly sweet Sophia lean back on you throne
Silly sweet Sophia finally found a home

Silly sweet Sophia beat him by a mile
Silly sweet Sophia give us a winning smile

Silly sweet Sophia gonna save the day?
Silly sweet Sophia's to busy letting hm play

Silly sweet sophi has no more room
Long lost Lydia loves only the moon

Long lost Lydia gave away her self
Long lost Lydia porcelain doll on a shelf

Long lost Lydia wants now to live
Long lost Lydia's forgotten how to give

Silly sweet Sophia just as silly not so sweet
Long lost Lydia trusts only her feet

Long lost Lydia, empty rag doll
Long lost Lydia embodies us all

Long lost Lydia, give us a laugh
Long lost Lydia, show us your other half

Silly sweet Sophia, don't even try
Silly sweet Sophia you'll faill and then cry

Long lost Lydia, love is not a toy.
Long lost Lydia can you love this boy?

Long lost Lydia invited to a ball
Long lost Lydia gonna have it all

Long lost Lydia, gonna take he bus?
Long lost Lydia is not one of us!

Silly sweet Sophia pray your music
Silly sweet Sophia learn how to use it

Long lost Lydia gonna be the best
Long lost Lydia, tasted the rest

Silly sweet Sophia tell us what you see
Silly sweet Sophia couldn't let us be

Silly sweet Sophia, who is she?
Silly sweet Sophia's none other than me

Long lost Lydia, the one left behind
Long lost Lydia, product of a scared mind

Silly sweet Sophia open your eyes
Silly sweet Sophia a gift from the skies

Long lost Lydia swings a battle axe at
Silly sweet Sophia's smile made of wax

I’ve got that urge again

You know the urge I mean,
The one that says time to get up

and run, as fast as you can, as far as you can

just run.
Yea, THAT urge.
Where do my feet take me this time?

Somewhere old and familiar. Beautiful and mystic
Common and crowded, cheaply disguised.
That place with the brown walls and floor
but high, wide, blue ceiling.

It is original..It is my origin.
It is my destiny, my destination, my hope.
I've got the urge to go. To visit this city.
Maybe to stay.

Plant a kiss on the cheek of my true home
visit places only I know.
Oh the tour guides know....but they don't Know.
They've never seen the magic,
felt the wonder.

Have you?

Have you ever grasped the urge, vowing never to let go?
Hugged yourself in the dark and stared into the water
as the children's cries disappeared into the night?
Found the wonder that is three cities in one?

The ancient and beautiful, deserted and true city only someone who truly cared could find.
And the crowded noisy splended city of tourbooks and bus destinations
and the sprawling desolate city where even though hope is right down the road and around the corner the eyes stare back so haunted and hallow?

It is my city, it is love

it is hope.

It is home.

It is me.

And it is where I am going the next time the urge seeks me out.

Oh, San Antonio, I'm coming home.

And this is the last one I'll post tiday (hears cheers in the background) It was a school asignment to write a poem that sums up who you are, without ever describing yourself.

R E F L E C T I O N S in a B L A N K w.i.n.d.o.w

And a dreamer sits beside an open window
staring at a blank, black expanse
wishing to explore
needing to run
but knowing to leave now
means leaving everything
that matters
so far behind.

an ache
a burning desire
to be free
a dull throb
never ceasing to be
and a restraint on temptation
"a little while yet" the whispered promise
remains unfullfilled.

This uncertainty is only for a little while
and it seems to last so long
and the only thing to remedy
that comes to mind, is a line from that corny song
"just kiss the girl"
sadly, as of yet no one dares try.

and this eternity flies by
a moment
a year
an hour
or more
still waiting and hoping
for him to knock on the door.
But really, what are wishes for?

Blasphemous:Ok I have got to say that those poems were really good. But what I think needs applause is those AWESOME icons on ur sig. I loved those. And it's nice to see a fellow Firefly/Serenity fan nowadays. FOX sucks btw. They cancel every good show they get.

Fool in the rain

I hear that sound
that quiet pitter-patter
as fat raindrops
freefall from the sky

But I don't care
all I see is him
as he leans toward me
and whispers in my ear

"Do you love me?" he murmurs
My answer is true
"Yes." I reply
my voice breathless

He pulls me close
and stares into my eyes
as if he's looking into my soul
to find the truth

And I say
"It's not a lie."
and he smiles happily
like a fool in the rain...

Thanks. I really like your poem, too. Is it based on real-life or a book?

I just wrote this now, I'm not quite sure what it's about. I love all your poems - Poet's Corner sure is great. :D

Recognise the truths on her lips
So many she has sung
Watch closely as her mask slips
Been through too much, too young.

But you're not listening
You don't see her tears glistening
You leave, don't spare her a thought
Just leave her with naught.

So she stands in the dark
In her head a journey to embark
Because for you she will die
It was too much to deny.

-Jasper your poem actually almost made me cry. And I don't cry about movies, books, and poems. AT ALL. You are a really good writer.

This one is a narrative poem, and I'm glad people are liking what I've already put up.

Early Morning Worship

To be music. Not to make music or "do" music, but to become it. To slowly shrink down to the innermost essence and allow the physical to fade away until all that remains is a faint melody heard only by the pure at heart. Heard only early summer mornings. The perfect kinds where there is music and wonder and sound coming from existance itself. To lie on the roof, or in the grass, or on the driveway in the grey predawn light and allow that music to become a part of you wishing instead to become a part of it.

Sure there are other kinds of music. The music of lovers, the sounds emitted by various beings and electronic devices. The tune that can be observed in daily activity. But the music that comes then, it is true and pure. Unpolished and unrehearsed. Without training or aim. It's only purpose is just to be and to remind the listeners that they too can simply be.

This kind of music lends strength and support. Tells you "you are not alone", but also "you are special, you are worthy, you are loved". The music that is the essence of life itself. It draws it's beat from our hearts, it's rythm from our breathing. It's melody is true emotion. It ca be agressive with pent up emotion, or smooth and flowing full of sweet release.

The music is life itself

The music tells a story

The music allows us to be

The music is our restriction

This music it is my sanity, hope, health, and home. The music is in my heart and my mind. And one day, when worthy, I would like to become part of this music truly. To writhe and pulsate and seep from the ground with all the rest. To be reduced to my soul-core. And to be made vast by it.

blasphemous_contessa - Thanks! :D Sometimes I write really bad poems, sometimes ones that I like, I think I write more bad ones than good ones - good to know you liked it though.
