Yes, there's other Canadians here! (DunnerheartsTwilight, JessicaIsIntoxicated)
WOOT WOOT DunnerheartsTwilight, I'm from Ontario too! :D

I have a new question: What countries are in your background?
I'm half Italian, and half Indian, yet I have never been to either country. (but I'm hoping to go to Italy next year!)

Sorry if this question ends up only pertaining to the Canadians and Americans! -sheepish grin-
Yay, Jessica! I'm from Ontario, too. Its amazing how many canadians there are here considering how seldom a Canadian uses the Canadian, Eh thread.

Indian Sub-continent.

Wait, why would that only pertain to Canadians and Americans?
You think we're the only ones who came from other places?

My family's been in Aotearoa for AGES, like they came from Ireland and Scotland in the 1800's or something like that. I have a bit of Maori in me too! Though I don't look anything Maori

What countries are in my background? Well the ones I know for sure are Austrian, German, English, and Scottish, but I have a whole side of my family that was very mysterious about where they came from, but we're thinking that they were French Canadians, so I guess I'm French too, and maybe some other stuff.

Well, I'm sure that all over the world there are people from everywhere else, but all I know is that here in Canada, there's only like 1 or 2 people in my class (about 30 people) who's grandparents were actually born in Canada. Mine weren't. Neither was my dad. At least in the area where I'm from, it's very hard to find someone who is just purely, truly Canadian. Maybe I should change that from "pertaining only to Canadians and Americans" to "pertaining mostly to Canadians and Americans". Or maybe I should just shut up. Starting now. :D

That's weird...I don't go around asking people where their grandparents are born, but I'm pretty sure more than 1 or 2 of them were born here!

Again, weird! Families living in New Zealand stay here. I wonder why

Lol, just about everyone I have ever known was born and raised around here. This is one of those areas where everybody has known everybody since the white man kicked the redskins off their land. :P

Just the other day an old lady I work with came up to me and said "You know, you remind me a lot of your grandma Betty. Just some of the things I've seen you do remind me a lot of her *smile* "

And I'm like... hanging my head, trying to hide from this woman and she's like, "Oh, no! It's not a bad thing! I used to go over to her house all the time when we were younger. She was a very nice lady."

Yea, I don't care if I act like my grandma or not, just stop watching me from afar! Now whenever I work with her I wonder, Is she watching me? Is she analyzing my every movement? :?

But really, ~*teamswitzerland*~, don't assume that your class counts for all of Canada.
I hate it when people do that.

 I've been told I look like my great-grandma, but the only photo I've seen of her is this one just before she died when she was like 80-something, which does not look like me in any way at all!

Stereotyping is annoying!!! :x Talking to the people on these forums, I know that all those nasty ones about people from other countries being this and that aren't true for practically everyone, especially the countless ones we get about America.

I'm from Australia and i have lived in the ACT and NSW.
But you know the things i hate?
I absolutely hate tomato sauce and barbeque sauce.
And i was a vegetarian til the age of 4.
And i only really developed a liking for meant last year which has now developed into an obsession.
As everyone else said,
Kangaroos do not just appear out from everywhere.
Well one exception to that actually.
When i was in ACT we were walking down a busy street and a random kangaroo was there.
That was really coincidental though , it's not normal!
Not everyone loves BBQ's and Cricket although most people do. :)
And normal people don't talk stupidly saying "G'day Mate!" and all that bull.
Honestly..... 8-)

That's kinda like us... nothing like a good kiwi bbq! But we're not really cricket people across the ditch, more like rugby people. And I don't like rugby!
