After what seemed like an eternity, the fire had stopped. And so had the vision.
Elena's eyes had closed and now other visions occupied her mind. Memories of Derek and Zane filled her head.
"You haven't told her?" smirked Derek. "Do you think she is too scared to handle the truth? Because if you do, you shouldn't have her. She needs someone who would know her better." He turned to Elena. "You see, my brother and I are vampires."
Chills swept through Elena, but another memory came.
Zane and Elena sat under a large oak tree. Around them everything was at peace. "I love you." Zane whispered into Elena's ear. "I love you more," whispered back Elena with a grin. Slowly they started to lean in together.
Derek stood in front of Elena. "Elena, you must choose. Pick either my brother or me. I promise to love you forever if you choose me," said Derek, with his velvety voice, his red eyes blazing with what looked like passion.
Elena opened her eyes to find she was in front of the Masters' chamber. The smell of blood came from there, but she didn't pay much attention to it. She wasn't thirsty.
Slowly, she eased herself up into a more comfortable sitting position. Running her finger's through her hair she found it wild and in disarray.
