Awesome! Thanks. Remember - you don't have to do it all in one shot... One scene/song at a time. And the version of Twilight that is there is kind of messed up and is pending a complete overhaul and New Moon is about to be redone as well. Sooo... I hate to say this, but start with Eclipse.
BiTwiCre wrote:Again another song but this one is all for Edward, I won't explain this one because it is just how he thinks of Bella.

Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus:
I keep wanting to find a place for this song, but it keeps getting passed over for some reason. It's funny that you say it's supposed to be from Edward's POV. I've seen others say it's supposed to be Jacob's in NM. I will admit that it probably helps that the lead singer in the music video looks exactly how I pictured Jacob at the beginning of New Moon (with the long hair). Did you have anywhere in particular you see the song going? I keep almost finding the right spot for it, but it evades me.

Also, on "Think Twice" by Eve 6, the place where I have it in Eclipse kind of makes it Edward's POV rather than Jacob. Again, another switch I find greatly interesting.

Your thoughts?

Thats very interesting. I never thought of it that way, but now I see what you mean. I probably associate Edward with Your Guardian Angel because I read the first chapter of Midnight Sun while listening to it. I still don't see how Think Twice could be from Edwards POV, though. Why do you think it is ?

Wow It is really nice of you to set that up for us. My boyfriend is busy compiling that list for Twilight! Before then I was just using Hai nguoi cung canh ngo, by Pham Thanh Thao and Vinh Thuyen. Or some of Bao Yen's songs/albums. Set to low as possible. I hope he can find all the songs you listed. I wish to thank you RoseSpecialist for this chance to read it over with songs that go with the book, I am excited lol.
Well that wasn't exactly the reaction I'd been going for, 123 p. of SM's Partial Draft.

Tia - thanks! If you click on the Playlist.com profile link in my signature, all the music is there! But if you're not in the US, there might be some songs that don't play because of licensing issues in foreign countries (something Playlist is working on).
Let me know what you think!

BiTweCre - sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet. I see "Think Twice' as a song that is possibly from both Jake AND Edward's POV. I see your point on some of the lyrics being Jake's, but generally, I'd say Edward. There's a song in "Aspects of Love" (a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber) called "She'd Be Far Better Off With You" where the characters are singing the exact same lyrics to each other while extolling the other guy's virtues and why the lady in question would be better off with the other guy. This is the same idea here as far as how the lyrics fit for both, only in this song, they're both telling the other guy to get lost. Make sense?
If you want, I can take the lyrics and break them down as far as how that specific line would fit from Edward's POV (to match what you've done). Would that help?

I listened to the other song you said, and I think I get what your saying, that really helped.I just couldn't get my preconception out of my head! I also used some of your playlist songs for a book report project ( we had to take scenes and set them to music, while performing) So thanks for help with that too! :D

RoseSpecialist thank you for the playlist! For most of the book my reading rate averages about 1 page per minute. However there are several times I experienced a slowdown during reading. That ranges from a mild decrease during cute emotional situations or expressions, to acute slowdowns e.g. Edward expressing his fears and love to Bella while at the meadow.

-As to specific instances that I'm talking about, for me there are to many to try list. I am trying to find longer or additional songs to add, but the sheer volume of songs out there just staggers me lol. I will continue to search for songs, but most of the songs I used to listen to wasn't even english and most on your playlist is new to me. So it might take me a while. Once
again thanks! ~Tia

On the slowdown thing, I know exactly what you mean! The 1 page per minute reading rate is my "read slow so I can really savor what's going on in the scene" pace. If I'm reading through a book as fast as I can, like when I first read through the Twilight Saga or each time I got the latest Harry Potter book, then it's more like 2 to 3 pages per minute! That difference in pace is one of the reasons I don't recommend reading and listening to the Playlist at the same time for people who are only reading the books for the first time. Also, some of the songs are spoliers/allusions/foreshadowing for specific scenes in later books!
How to best handle this slowdown problem? ... hit repeat/back if you get to the end of the song and haven't finished that scene yet! I have a little sticky/tab in my copy of the books where the start of the song/scene is so I can see how much I have left in the text and also how much I need to rewind if I slow down too much. And yes that does mean that my books are completely covered in these tabs. I should see if I can post a photo of them and put it in my signature so you all can get a look into the mouth of my madness. or maybe not.

The Eclipse Book and Playlist. Attempt #3. (Don't ask please lol)
-After a few songs, my bf took over the notes and let me read.-
I was so glad he was there with me, or there would be only 3 or 5 notes!
Mostly an overview, I tuned out the world when reading. I think.

-Notes: I added in the Song number for the Playlist-
1)Prelude: 3 Excellent song! Really set the mood.
2)Mexican Standoff: 2 That song goes with the start great.
3)Feed The Tree: 3 Felt restless, just the right tone. Went really well.
4)She Has No Time song: 3 EDITED: The song I dithered on, actually fits perfectly, just spooky lol :EDITED
5)Hamburg Song: 3 Real dreamy, I liked it.
6)Whistle For the Choir: 1 she seemed confused as if she didnt understand something
7)One More Murder: 1<<<should be 2, after realising they were thinking of Seattle district. Honest, I do rethink these songs during cooking cleaning and running into walls and cats lol
8)Babydoll: 1
9)Writing To Reach You: 2 she was drawn into the book it looks like
10)Frontier City: 2
11)Clocks: 2
12)Work: 2 nice
13)Just A Phase: 3 had a smile on
14)Windmills: she turned pink so i asked her song? she ignored me so 3 lol
15)Driftwood: 3
16)Coffee and Cigarettes: 3 she said something but i didnt hear and she wouldnt answer
17)Some Things Don't Work Out: 3
18)Noise and Kisses: 3 said she loves this song with the book
19)The Small Print: 3 intense look on her face
20)Hate To Say I Told You So: 3 she looked really intense, hyper almost
21)If Only: 3 it fit pefectly
22)Times Like These: 2
23)Rumble: 3 song made the mood right
24)Jesus Christ: 3 she had a light smile on her, head swinging to the music
25)Always Be: 3 she had a big smile on her, head swinging to the music still
26)We Are Broken: 3 stopped reading. that was really emotional she said then she went to sleep
-Note from the morning, Think I stayed up too late.

I think every song so far blends into the book easy. Both in mood and time constraints.
Some songs I don't understand the meaning of them.
As to the numbers after the songs:
For 3 It was like being there when listening and reading. Everything clicked, the tone and mood. I bounced thru the book.
For 2 It's really easy to get lost in the mood when the song and book team up.
For 1 The 1 just shows that I can't bridge the song into my first language easy. Not that it doesn't fit!

At the start I knew he would look over my shoulder to compare page to songs. After a time I didn't even notice. It's so easy to get drawn in, almost surreal. How the songs intensified the mood of the book. Overall I was surprised at just how many songs I listened to lol.

I added in the Playlist number for the songs, and edited my take on 4)She Has No Time
