Re: The Hunger Games/Catching Fire
I love the title, I love the cover and I can't wait for Katniss and her followers to kick some Capitol bootay.... just waiting for the adventure, to see who lives and dies... and if Katniss ends up with Peeta (my bet) or Gale. I am teamless - I love them both.

YAY!!! That's awesome. I love the title! That means we are just that closer to being able to read it. Thanks for finding that Jenna. August seems too far away.

Re: The Hunger Games/Catching Fire
Did you guys notice how the circle thing surrounding the birds in HG and CF's cover is broken here? And the light blue is like a sky, no?
But the exposed stomach reminds me of a bird right before it's shot down. It's like the complete freedom before the fall.

I love the new cover!!! YAY!!! SOO EXCITED!!!
Look what I found:
Stuff that won't be in Mockingjay by David Levithan (VP Editorial Director, Scholastic):
* Panem is not shaken up when District 9 is nominated for a best picture Oscar.
* At no point does President Snow utter the line, “This is Snowmageddon, baby.”
* Despite internet rumors to the contrary, it is not revealed that Cinna has been secretly designing outfits for a Capitol operative known as “Lady GaGa.”
* All rumors of a crossover appearance by Geronimo Stilton are false.
* In a tough editorial call, we decided not to have Katniss win the Hunger Games…only to be interrupted by Kanye West.
I totally laughed after reading this.

^^Hahahahahahahah!
Thanks for the awesome cover, Jenna! I'm very excited for this new book.
And that girl you showed does look like she could play Katniss. Also, I originally thought Logan should be Gale.

So I wanted to know what you guys thought of the Hogwarts Professor's "Pearl" Theory: http://www.hogwartsprofessor.com/who-is ... s-trilogy/
Personally, I don't think it's right, but I thought it was interesting.

Re: The Hunger Games/Catching Fire
sometime I think everyone is thinking too hard about what it all means. Maybe my brain just does not work that way. Seriously... the article is way over my head (I think)
I started the article (forgive me) but didn't finish it.
I'm happy thinking Katniss is a part of the revolution, or the catalyst... and the 3rd book is how the Capitol get overthrown. The end. The rest is just a ride for me to enjoy.
I still can't wait!

Re: The Hunger Games/Catching Fire
I just discovered this thread (hurray!) and have to reveal ...
I can't watch the Olympics because it reminds me too much of the Hunger Games!
Seriously, look at the similarities:
- teams from regions marching into the stadium
- "human interest" stories to make the viewers care about particular athletes (they even mentioned the married pairs skaters winning the short program on Valentines Day!)
- death at the games (okay, that was an accident, but it was still filmed)
- outrageous costumes
- pageantry
- riots (downtown Vancouver had protesters and police facing off)
I think I'll have to blog about this! Suzanne Collins, look how darn powerful your books are!

^I was just thinking about that last night!
It's true... Suzanne Collins has captured me in her books... *sigh*
