I went to see this in I-MAX 3D, and I agree, some of the scenes made me sick. But apart from that, I liked the movie. The visuals were great, and I really enjoyed the story.

I just remembered the only thing besides the plot that I didn't like about the movie:
The Na'vi jacked the Aiel's line. James Cameron must read the Wheel of Time. Can we sue? I mean, dude, the Aiel have been saying "I see you." as a greeting since 1990! Or before, whenever Jordan started writing it. 1984. Way older than Avatar.
And I'd rather be an Aiel than a Na'vi. The Aiel wear even less clothes, if that's at all possible.

Very true. They definitely top my list of "Things I'd Rather Be Than Who I Am Now" next to the Specials. The Elves and Na'vi are a little below them.

I can see where you are coming from, but they weren't military, they were former military working security for a corporation.... mercenaries, like Black Water in Iraq.

I guess its long but its worth it...
This movie is amazing...
The whole world there is so developed and so beautiful... and the 3-D is so cool!
but I have to say that the whole story.. It's kinda shallow...

Shallow in what way? Or are you saying the people are shallow?

Anyway, I don't think this movie is as great as it's made out to be.
Sure, it has great graphics but the story is not orignal in any way.
It's nothing special, really.
I do love the negative light they put mankind in, however.

no... off course the people aren't shallow... I just say that the story has no real depth... like it's a simple story of bravery like the indians and the cowboys... but on another plant...
the beauty of the world they've created is far better... the world they've created is absalutly amazing :D but the story is not very original...that's what I meant

Awesome movie! i saw it 8 times in theaters with 4 in 2D and the rest in 3D, it's just an amazing and unique movie. James Cameron is one of my heroes.
