I love the movies! Theyre so awesome!
--they totally don't have nearly as much detail as what are in the book but what can you expect?

I was so BUMMED when the moved the date back for like 8 months or whatever. I know that made Twilight closer, but I'd rather watch them both within two weeks of each other than wait for the harry potter one next year.

You know what that means???!!!

TWILIGHT COMES OUT IN THEATRES NEXT MONTH!! WOOOOO!

The movies are great because it gives us an actual visual world to become a part of not just imagining what it would be.

I love all the movies (some more than others) but like AliceC said that there is much detail in them. So if you want detail the books are the way to go.

I was totally upset about the date being changed but one good thing that came about it was that I heard all this buzz about Twilight so I went a got the books & now I'm hooked on both HP & TW.

A lot of people hated OotP but I thought it was fabulous! Yes it was short, but they still managed to make it not confusing for non-readers but still entertaining for those of us who do read the books. I thought they did really well on that part, plus the effects were absolutely fantastic, the music too.

Like I've stated before, I wasn't a big fan of OotP. I think that they are starting to kind of shy away from the books in the movie verisions so it is easier for people to get involved & end up wanting to see the next movie.

I think that's sad. I know when I watch the movies, I'm always analizing it because it's like he wasn't the one who said that or that wasn't what happened. So it's really strange.

I think that with the HP movies you should definitely have read the books because it just makes you appreciate what your actually seeing.

One thing I'm looking forward to with the HBP movie is the return of Quiddich & seeing how Tom is going to portray Draco because it will be interesting seeing an emotional side other than the devilish side.

Tom Felton was actually pretty good in HBP. But no one can beat Rupert. That kid is a force to be reckoned with in 6. SO FUN to watch. :)

I used to be really big on HP, but I think it has kind of fizzled out for me now..The series is done, the movies take forever to complete..so its like forgotten in the meantime until something comes out..I'll probably still go see the rest of the movies..but its not like I don't already know the gist of what happens..I dunno..I guess I am just HP'd out.

I'm glad their are people who feel like I do and don't actually like the HP films. I thought the first two were alright cos they stuck to the books quite well. the third film annoyed me loads cos it was my favourite (until GoF) and i felt they mucked it up. I did like bits of the GoF film mostly the funny stuff that the twins say that sometimes isn' in the books and the fact that David Tennant was playing Barty Crouch Jr though he did look pretty darn creepy (for those who don't know David Tennant is the current Doctor in Doctor Who - the best ever Sci-f show and the longest running show as well :D ) OotP ... i can't really remember much of it cos i haven't watched it in ages cos i only saw it the once in the cinema and then refused to watch it again cos they missed enormous chunks of the book out (a cardinal sin in my book of films-from-books) i know they only have a certain amount of time to show all the major stuff but why didn't they make the fifth into 2 films?
I'm not too bothered that they moved it back to next year cos i was only gonna go see it so i could criticise everything they left out of it afterwards. I am very happy however that they have moved Twilight forward i think it is now being released in England on the 19th december *hopes with all digits crossed* just hope they haven't changed too much of it cos i know there are some differences from the trailer *chews hand nervously*

All my friends reckoned it was scary at the end of OotP when Voldemort and Harry are battling with their minds but i was laughing my head off! I thought Voldemort looked like some kind of talk-show host against the rushing background and it looked like he was showing something with his hands.
I love all the movies. :D

Who do you think is/was the best Dumbledore (Richard Harris or Michael Gambon)?

I like both their own way. Richard Harris reminded me of the grandfather type, protective & yet insightful. Now Michael Gambon brought a more confrontational Dumbledore and wanted Harry to recognize his potential & what Harry needed to learn in order to live and defeat Voldemort.

In my opinion both were great.
