Hello from a NC Twi-Mom!

Post by bookgirl »

Hi! I'm bookgirl, and I'm excited to formally join over here! I've gotten the Facebook news feeds from Twilight Lexicon for awhile but hadn't officially joined the site until now. I used bookgirl originally as part of one of my email addresses because I am a librarian. I have used the same thing as a screen name on the two Twilight forums that I use: TwilightMoms and now Twilight Lexicon.
I resisted reading Twilight for a couple of years even though it had been suggested to me by a couple of students. I just didn't think I would like reading that "big vampire book". LOL (I don't know what I was thinking; I loved Angel.) After a couple of teachers came to me and said "Have you read this book?", I gave in and started reading. I was so engrossed in them that I couldn't put them down. I read each one in a single day; I was rockin' some pretty bad dark circles under my eyes that week. Once I finished, I had to turn right around and read them again. And again. And again! I have a hard time picking a favorite book though. If I had to choose, I would probably have to say Twilight since it was the beginning of that beautiful story and had the magic to suck in all of us Twi-hards.
I am defintely Team Edward! Jacob was a great friend to her, but he wasn't the soulmate that Edward was. Edward loves with such an intensity and passion, that he intrigued me. The ulitmate star-crossed lovers scenario. I actually got irritated reading Eclipse because of the Edward-Jacob drama; it was all too black-and-white for me. Of course, she would be with Edward!
I love all the Cullens! But I guess if I had to choose my favorites, I would say Emmett and Alice. I love the comic relief and the intensity that Emmett throws into all his situations. He always says exactly what he thinks and is gung-ho about everything he does. Alice is also great; I would love to have her give me a makeover! :D
In my free time, I love to read, bake and spend time with my family. And I love meeting new Twilight friends. I was able to go to a Twilight Convention in April, and it was amazing to be in such a group of other Twi-fans! I have now read the entire series 8 times (and yes, I am one of those that gave in and read Midnight Sun! I couldn't help myself, and I thought it was wonderful. I really hope she finishes it.) I am in my 30s.

Hello and welcome to the Twilight Lexicon!

I’m Openhome, and I’m one of the moderators around here.

We are so pleased you have chosen to join us! The Lex is a large site and can be very confusing at first. To help you navigate through the threads better, please be sure to check out the Welcome Forum and take a look at the threads there. You can begin at the Before You Start Posting thread. This topic contains a wealth of information on how to use our boards.

If you have any questions about posting here, there are three forums set up for you. Newborn in Seattle has a long list of helpful hints and FAQ’s. If you have technical difficulties, go to For the Accident Prone. The site’s rules and policies are found in the Don’t Irritate the Volturi thread. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with them!

If you have any other questions, you can contact any of the moderators by sending them a Private Message (PM). Moderators’ names appear in green. You can also go to the Communing with the Pack forum to ask questions or give us feedback.

See you around the boards!

Hey. Welcome to the lex!!

Sounds like we would get along very well, I agree w/pretty much everything you said!!
Plus I love all the Cullens but if I had to pick (besides Edward of course) I too would pick Alice & Emmett & for the reasons you said.
