Hi, I'm Ina

Post by Ina EssBe »

Hi, I’m Ina EssBe and I currently reside in England with my amazingly patient and supportive husband (- may the sources of his tolerance never run out!) and our harebrained but gorgeous dog (very few can resist her black and fluffy charms :D ).

My age is rather hard to describe right now. Saying that I’m at the crossroads between my 20’s and 30’s is, probably, the best way to explain. In my head and heart, though, I’ve remained 19-20 (sorry for the cliché, but it’s true).

I think people would find it interesting to know that I’m not an English national. I was born in one country, grew up in another and ended up living in the third. I like to think of myself as a cosmopolitan, a person who’s content with having multiple identities.

I’m obsessed with and love doing many different things, regularly diving into something new, something I hadn’t experienced before (within the legal grounds, of course). Despite that, one part of me stayed the same,i.e. creativity. I'm certainly into arts and crafts. I also adore beauty and cannot resist things that are such: films, music, books, art, theatre, dance, etc.

I picked my screen name rather quickly. Just played with the first initials of my real name and surnames in my head and – voila! – my online ID was born. (Being fluent in 3 languages certainly helped here.) I hope people don’t hate it. :)

Frankly, I didn’t read Meyer’s books until after I saw the Twilight movie, in the summer’09. My mother was visiting and we wanted to rent a DVD. It’s normally a nightmare choosing movies with her because she watches anything and everything non stop, while I simply don’t have the time… Anyway, Twilight suited the bill perfectly as neither of us had seen it. It was literally love at first sight. When my mom left, I couldn’t resist the intrigue of comparing the film and the book. Once I opened the first page of Twilight, I wasn’t able to stop. Within 6 days, I had read all 4 books and about to start rereading them all over again. I’m sure my story sounds like a million others… but to me, personally, this moment is distinct because Stepheny Meyer’s writing was the catalyst for my love of reading. In the past, I appreciated books in my own special way. I liked their smell and how they looked but, when it came to actual reading, it was hard work for me. After Twilight, I immersed into the world of written fantasy unable to quit it anymore – nor do I want to.

My favourite books are Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Eclipse has lots of humour (the scene of Jackob kissing Bella for the first time is unforgetable), meanwhile Breaking Dawn has love scenes... need I say more? I also like Jacob’s perspective in it. Stepheny is a genius!

I find it hard to choose my favourite from Edward, Bella and Jacob. I love all 3 and refuse to give 2 of them up. I see something I relate to and like in them all: all 3 have amazing qualities and all have some annoying ones too. As for the minor characters – who are the minor characters?! I don’t put Charlie and Cullens in that category. Without the Cullens, there’d be no Edward; whereas without Charlie - no Bella… so I love them all deeply. But if pressed, I’d either choose Angela or Zafrina: Angela for her insightfulness, down-to-earthness (I know it’s not a word, but it sounds good ;) ) and gentleness; and the Amazonian for being exactly the opposite - unpredictable, yet powerful and strong. I believe that we choose things which reflect our personality in some way or another, and these two choices certainly put me in a nutshell.

I’m sorry my introduction was this long, but thank you for reading and I’ll see you around.
