May I, as a guy (visit the Worried about BD and Gender Divide threads, and many of you already know this), offer up my opinions?

I sort of like the punk rocker chick style--it can be feminine and edgy without being too gratuitous. I have some info on that if one would like to PM me about it, but the basics there are print dresses, sneakers, boots, print tops, slacks, and stuff like that.
Audi, Twilight, Cher, Pink Floyd, symphonic/progressive rock, KStew, RP, Bio-Booster Armor Guyver-what's not to like

pffff, well if you are the skinny type of girl taht you could go with Kristen's daily look.. if you see pics of her walking around town or at airports, she always wears skinny jeans, sneakers, t-shirt and vest (preferably stolen from Rob's closet....) but you could match up skinny jeans with high heels... ( I really love red pump or boots)....

That's pretty much what I do wear but I don't feel like I wear rock chick styles. I'd like to get a faux leather jacket but I haven't seen any which have looked nice and which don't look a bit tacky.

Leather is always good... I don't know how you feel about hair and dyeing it... but you could always do something awesome with that... I do dye it a lot...at least something new every 6 months...or cut it in some nice model... hair really does change a lot drastically...

skirts with knee high boots also look awesome... not with very high heels because that would look trashy but flat of with a 2 inch heel... I always wanted a leather skirt to pair with the dozen boots I have...

I am a natural redhead (auburn color) with BSL-length hair and I really don't want to dye it as I love my natural color, but I suppose red hair isn't really very rock chick-ish, is it?

OMG... I would love to be a red head... that so awesome...Red is almost the only color I have never tried...
So no coloring your hair!!!! can't do that...

Maybe you could work with accessories... like belts with studs or cool earrings, leather bracelets. make up... smokey eyes always work but lipstick as well...
you know Kate Moss's style would also work for your rock style...she has very good taste...

I have also tried to create my own look... like altering my clothing... like spicing up a t-shirt by sowing some beads or something on it... or patches of fabric... it's a very cheap solution, just buy a simple H&M one colored shirt, thread and beads or fabric you like and decorate the thing yourself...
I really think that a style you create yourself rocks...

Thanks. :) I've had people asking me where I get my hair colored before. One girl who I didn't even know walked up to me and said "please tell me where you get your hair done because I love that color". She was disappointed when I said it was natural, lol. I do love my color, although sometimes I wish I was a brunette, but red is striking anyway so I guess that fits in with the striking rock chick look.

What color lipstick would you recommend? I'm not keen on the dark purple colors which were fashionable last fall. The current lipsticks in my makeup bag are classic red, a neutral pinky color and a brighter pink lipgloss. I'm a total newbie to this style really so any help is appreciated. :)

Oh yes, I had forgotten about her. Her style is pretty cool. I think I need to get some dark skinny jeans as most of mine are kind of mid-denim (not light denim but they're not dark either). :)

I really think that a style you create yourself rocks...

Yeah, I agree. It's nice to be original, although of course nearly everything in fashion has been done before!

I love reds... all shades of red...I don't wear lipstick that often but I always go for red...
but if you go for red lipstick make sure you other make-up is kept to a minimum or it would look very silly.

I love the discussion here. Hope you don't mind if I jump in. I don't really have much to add about the rock chick style, because I don't usually go for that even though I do like it. Hmm, maybe I should spice things up a bit every now and then with your tips. :D
Anyway, I wanted to say to Jacobs-girl that I'm a redhead too and I'm usually very careful with red lipstick. If you have red hair (and very thin, pale skin with a strong red undertone like me), bright red lipstick can be a bit too much. I don't wear a lot of lipstick, but my favorite right now is more brownish than red (like this one). I just use it very lightly and it nicely accentuates but doesn't overpower. I would say, try to look for pinkish or brownish red, but be very very careful with orange-based, fire-fighter, bright red. If that makes sense...
