Re: Broadway Shows
Broadway is my LIFE. (Well, not exactly, but you get the idea )
My favorite shows are...
-Phantom of the Opera
-Wicked
-Sweeney Todd
-Jekyll and Hyde
-Beauty and the Beast
The order changes from day to day There are other ones I like too (Avenue Q, The Producers, ect), but those are my favorites!
I've never seen/heard anything from Les Miserables, but I've heard amazing things about it, so that'll probably be the next show I explore... and it might become a new favorite

Re: Broadway Shows
Just a heads up to anyone who might be interested in seeing some shows...
I'm a musical person, myself, so I was a bit skeptical when Pel said she got tickets to a straight play. I had to eat my words though after laughing my hind end off all through Boeing Boeing! If you have the chance to see it, go see it! The cast is amazing. Everyone is recognizable for their recent work. And the physical comedy of the entie play is well worth the money.
Boeing Boeing. Read all about it here.

I've seen Avenue Q. . .i loved it, so freaking hilarious
I've mostly just seen the movies for the rest: Rent, Mamma Mia, Hairspray, Sweeney Todd.
Broadway shows can be pretty expensive. Especially when they win awards. I remember wanting to go see Jersey Boys with my boyfriend before it was all super popular, and award-winner and all but we didn't and next thing we know the tickets shot up

Yes, do yourself a favour and "explore" Les Miserables. It's definitely my favourite Broadway show.CastMeNotAway wrote: I've never seen/heard anything from Les Miserables, but I've heard amazing things about it, so that'll probably be the next show I explore... and it might become a new favorite

Boeing Boeing was...I think... was sponsered by Dallas Summer Musicals (I may be wrong)
I remember on their website they had someone representing them at the Tonys.
Anyway, my favorite shows are:
-Cats
-Phantom of the Opera
-Hairspray
-Wicked
-Jekyll and Hyde
-Legally Blonde
-Rent
-Guys and Dolls
-Thoroughly Modern Millie
-Little Shop of Horrors
-West Side Story
-Avenue Q
....The list goes on and on. So amazing.

Re: Broadway Shows
As far as actual shows that I've seen on Broadway - as in New York City - the list is pretty short.
Beauty and the Beast
The Life
Light in the Piazza
Wicked
Xanadu
Boeing Boeing
I saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Chicago with Donnie Osmond and I LOVED it!
I have seen Phantom of the Opera three times, the first of which was in Toronto with Colm Wilconson of Les Mis fame as the Phantom.
I saw the national tour for Cats, and even though the story was strange, the choreography blew me away!
But as far as shows that I have seen in general... the list is too long. I was a musical Theatre major in college, so I've been in so many shows and had season tickets for ten years to an equity playhouse in Indiana where I saw EVERYTHING they put on. My favorite shows that I've been in are:
Hello Dolly - I've played every female part in this except Minnie Fay
Secret Garden - Martha
Titanic - Kate McGowan
Fiddler on the Roof - Tzeitle (I hope to play Golde someday)
Man of LaMancha - Aldonza - This was probably my favorite show and part that I have ever played EVER!
Beauty and the Beast - I was the musical director and I had such an amazing time and learned so very much.
But just general favorite shows that I love to listen to on my iPod or will go see every time I have the chance:
My Fair Lady
Scarlet Pimpernel
Jekyll and Hyde
Phantom of the Opera
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Last Five Years
Beauty and the Beast
The Life
Light in the Piazza
Wicked
Xanadu

Re: Broadway Shows
I wanted to go see the Scarlet Pimpernel (my 2 close friends were Percy and Chauvelin.)
But the day of the performance I got the flu.
Xanadu...haven't seen that one yet but I do have the CD (and saw a clip of it on the Tonys)
Cheyenne Jackson is an AMAZING singer.
