I think I've recovered from the party now, but I've had a nasty cough for the past week, and I can't shake it. I wake up at night coughing, and it's not helping me to have either motivation or energy.

Sean - yes, it did occur to me that they could be married and simply don't want to announce it to the world, but I think it's unlikely.

Caryn - I have seen the rest of the Cosmopolis interview. It was very interesting. It makes me want to see it, because I don't mind complex characters, and I'd like to know if I could understand it, but I know there are aspects of it that I won't cope with, so it's not a good idea.

Brenda - yes, it's quite possible that Rob could have been suffering from lack of sleep, jetlag, exhaustion, alcohol or all of the above!

Happy Sunday, siblings. Having a nice relaxing day watching EuroCup2012. Marielle, sorry about yesterday's result. I'm hoping you were at least able to find a good place to watch the game.

Brenda~ I think she soooo should have taken up a cardboard cutout!! That would have been hysterical. I honestly do think they were surprised after MTV totally hosed them in all of the other categories. But, I think the results did reaffirm for them that the fans will always be there. I don’t think any of the Robsessed mods said he was drunk. There were a few trolls on the comment boards that were saying he was acting high or drunk and, believe me, we went right back at them. I think the man is exhausted after a month plus of going at 150%, he was just plum exhausted. I also think he felt a little safer in that environment letting lose a little bit.

Lynne~ I think the best advice I’ve read is to feel rather than analyze the movie, make the journey with Eric, rather than try to understand him or understand what’s actually going on, even if one has read the book.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all having a great weekend. It's hot and humid here and very windy. A storm is brewing. I'm glad I'm getting my Lexing done now because I might have to unplug later if there is a thunderstorm.

It looks like my new routine is to make a weekly mega post and a couple of fly bys. That's pretty pitiful for me. Oh well. It's all because I'm trying not to be online as much when my kids are home and we are doing things together. I don't keep my laptop out, so it's easier to stay off and harder to just get on to quickly check things.

I will be teaching until July 19, but my class is dwindling. The students who have school-aged kids have to stop coming when their kids get out of school. Instead of 15 students coming everyday, it's been more like 8. The energy level sure is down. (for the teacher too!) At least I don't teach on Fridays.

Now on to your posts:

Caryn – I hope you like your new work schedule. Do you have a worse time with traffic on the way home, though? We have so much new RobCrack – it is almost too much to handle. I’m absolutely delighted! You must have had to put some serious hours into organizing your photobucket account lately! It’s not just the chest flauntage that gets me, it’s the eyes, the jaw, the smile…. Wow – your tattoo has some pretty deep meaning. Thanks for explaining it all! I love your boys’ names around your ankle. Did the large colored in area hurt a lot when they did it? What a nice idea for an anniversary gift. How many years?

Ashley
- I’m sure we can work something out to help get you to the hotel. I need to finish compiling the arrival and departure info so I can make some recommendations to you.

Brenda
– Yep. Summer is always busier for parents. I’m glad your son likes his summer classes. I’m just swooning over all of the evidence of Robsten Love too. Awww. I agree about punchy behavior being so easy when you’re overtired. Given Rob’s personality, I think that is more likely than being drunk. I haven’t had time to watch all the videos of interviews etc., so thanks for your summary. Love your daydream of Rob and Kris making an appearance at HHCON. *sigh* You never got to read my Rob Fanfics. I wrote one for everyone who was on the HH the summer of 2010 - how each sister met Rob in her real life. Then I wrote an all inclusive one where we all got together at his expense and we met him. Would you like me to email them to you?

Sean
– OK Magazine has Rob and Kris on the cover with engagement news. I agree that it might not be true. I mean, wouldn’t they tell us first? If they do get married, we’ll have to have an e-wedding party on their behalf. Don’t worry about the activity level of the HH during the convention – I think we’ll have several of us making posts!! We won’t forget all the rest of you.

Songbird
– Monster High Doll – I was afraid it was a Disney thing. I’m so out of it now that my kids are grown up. So funny your daughter likes the vampire… Have a great time in Paris! Don’t worry about us - we’ll still be here when you get back.

Ginnie – Thanks for the update. Sorry you have had to put up with so much crap. I’m very happy you think of it as “taking your life back” and yes. You deserve much better. No need to apologize to us here at the Halfway House about not being able to post often – just pop in when you can. We love seeing you. p.s. so happy about HHCON! As I said to Sean – OK Magazine also had the wedding story. I’m expecting Rob and Kris to tell Alphie and Pel before anyone else!

Tracy
– No need for a defibrillator. I’ve got a strong heart. The knees are bad, but the heart is strong. (Thank God, with all of this Rob Crack being posted here!) Your son’s first baseball tournament – will he have to miss any games when you are on vacation? Oh - your grammar question - 'whomever' because it is an object pronoun. That being said, the grammar books say 'whoever' is acceptable now. 'whom' is falling by the wayside. It sounds overly pedantic.

Suzan
– Sorry, I’ve been one of the guilty ones absent from the Halfway House. I think it’s just a busy time of year for people with the end of school year and the beginning of summer. For me, I’m trying not to be online as much since my kids are home now. Power Kiting – Thanks for the video showing how it is done. It sure does look like a work out to be able to hold on to it. I’ve been on the beach there and it is super windy!LOVE all the Rob pics you posted. *drool* Love your new swimsuit!

Lynne
– What a lot of work hosting a big party at your house! I’m sure you handled all the details well. Your parents must have been very appreciative! I’m so glad your business is looking up recently. I hope your cough gets better.

Tonise
– I just giggled when I pictured you playing poker! I have no doubt that you’re quite an accomplished player.

Christina
– Hopefully you’re not a jinx for your trainer’s stalker making appearances when you’re there because that might mean that he’s stalking you too. (God forbid)

Jaclyn
– Does your hubs have a new job? I don’t remember him traveling that much before. I hope you enjoyed the trip to the Casino. It’s bound to be fun to go as a group. Tenerife in August. Now I’m really jealous of all that vacation time you get over there. I need to get over to your fb page and look at all the wedding stuff you’ve posted. Sorry all of the HHCon talk is making you feel bad. We’ll have to make sure we don’t do too much of that.

Marielle
– I hope you’re having a fantastic vacation!

Hubs and the kids have been out on a bike ride - it's great that they can do that together since I can't bike with my bad knees. They'll be back soon and I'll have to get dinner started - BBQ Pork Chops on the grill. Easy stuff.

Bye bye for now!

Hi everyone :)

Susie: I was under the impression that HH Con was this weekend--I probably confused Marielle's trip to Toronto.

Marielle: I'm surprised that you didn't take a trip to Montreal this weekend, since JB was there... And this coming weekend is the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the weekend after that, it's a road racing cavalcade, with NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide at Sears Point/Infineon Raceway and Road America, Grand Am (NASCAR owned sportscar series) at Road America, and F1 in Valencia. I'll be having a busy weekend then :)

Everyone: This week is Le Mans week, so I'll be pretty busy with that stuff, and I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, for my job stuff, but it shouldn't be anything major.

I'll be back later :)

Hello all!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekends. We found ourselves at the ball park much of the weekend watching my son's baseball team play in their end-of-season tournament. Their team has managed to win three out of four tournament games since Friday evening, and will play again Monday night with the winner headed to the championship game on Wednesday. Our team finished the regular season in fifth place (out of six teams) after losing a number of very close games. We're so proud of them as they've come on strong here at the end of the season. They refuse to give up and just find a way to win. We actually won tonight's game in a marathon lasting nearly 2-1/2 hours with extra innings, and the final score was 22-21! (It sounds more like a football score than a baseball score. ) In order to protect these young nine-and ten year-old boys' arms from overuse, there are very particular rules about pitch counts (the number of pitches the boys can pitch during a game, the number of pitches boys can throw on consective days during the tournament, etc.). Because we've played more games to get where we are than any other team left in the tournament, we've used more pitchers than anyone else...and finished tonight's game with a couple of plucky nine-year olds who've only pitched a handful of times in games all season. The boys have improved and have a great time together, both on and off the field....and that's really what it's all about. ;)

Marielle~ We're glad to hear you and your bf have arrived in Canada safe and sound. Enjoy the road trip and check in with us whenever you can. Honestly, you haven't missed a whole lot around here and things have been relatively quiet now that the Cannes and Cosmopolis news has died down a bit.

Susie~ That's too bad that many of your students aren't able to finish out your class because they have childcare issues. You're definitely in the homestretch now, and will be able to enjoy a well deserved break since you won't start teaching again until after Labor Day. ;) That's too funny that you mentioned your Rob fanfics to Brenda. I had just thought about finding my copy of the group fic and bringing it to share at HH Con. My son's b'ball tourney should be finished by Wednesday and we won't leave for the beach until Friday...barring postponements due to rainy weather, we shouldn't miss any games. Thanks for the grammar update....I knew I could cound on you or Brenda. :D I'm so glad you and hubs are enjoying spending leisurely time with the kids, and know you'll make the most of it, as you always do.

Brenda~ I love the idea of the T-shirts you'd give Rob and Kris, and bet they'd find them funny too. :D That is neat that Kristen accepted the MTV movie award from Jodie Foster, and I wonder if they've kept in touch through the years. They're kind of similar in some ways, considering how Jodie never really followed that "typical Hollywood starlet" path, either. They each seem to value their privacy a great deal, and Jodie sort of made her own way and went about things on her own terms, which reminds me somewhat of Kris. Your son should have a blast with those fun summer activities you've planned....heck, I would have a blast. :D

Caryn~ I'm glad to hear you and hubs enjoyed SWaTH. I lvoe your tattoo and all it represents and can't wait to see it in person. Happy Anniversary to both you and hubs! The adjustment of your work hours makes total sense so your boys aren't home alone as long. Is this the first year you've left them both home alone all day, and how old is your oldest again? I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the wedding and were able to visit with family. I hope the new facility is a better fit for your grandpa and that he continues to adjust well. We see a number of the residents at the skilled nursing facility where I'm employed have various outbursts, from time to time, especially those with dementia. We try to do all we can to defuse the situation and have yearly training on how to deal with those types of issues, but I know it can be difficult. I've always loved working as a physical therapist with geriatric residents in particular, and try to remember that each and every resident has lived an amazing life, in their own right; and they each have their own story to tell; and it's my privilege and honor to be of service to them in any way I can.
Tornado wrote:Usually the "inside sources" are completely fictitious, although sometimes they'll ask a doorman who opened a door for them once to say whether or not he thinks they'll be married someday, and if he says yes, that's their "inside source".
:rotfl: Right you are, Lynne.I'm glad you've recovered from your parents' Anniversary party and am sure everyone had a good time. I'm sorry you're dealing with that nasty cough and hope you recover quickly. What's the latest update on the editing process for your book?

Hello to Sean, Ginnie, and anyone else I've missed.

It's a public holiday here today, and rather than do some more work on my novel, I went to bed! I was just too tired from this cold that I've got to sit at the computer, so I went to bed and left my hubby to look after Little Man and the dog. I'm sick of coughing.

Caryn - yes, you're probably right. Maybe I'll be game enough to see it sometime.

Susie
- I hope your storm wasn't too bad.

marielle - glad you're enjoying hour holiday! I'll look forward to seeing the photos when they're available.

Tracy - I think I'm nearly done with the editing. I'll probably send it back to Rochelle by the end of the week. I'm glad to hear that your son's team has been going so well. Hopefully they'll win on Monday night, too!

Happy Monday, siblings. Got to work a bit early due to soccer camp, so I'm posting a bit early.

Hi Susie & Ginnie. I see you!

Susie~ Fridays off is a nice perk of the summer. I, myself, am taking off the next five Fridays to be home with the boys. Of course, you know me. I’ll be checking work email and the like. But, I promised the boys trips to the library, the Children’s Museum, and possibly Holiday World. So, we’ll see. Umm, yes, organizing the PB folders was a bit of a chore, but one that was quite delightful in its’ rewards. I think the consensus throughout the fandom is that Cannes and Cosmopolis promotion have allotted us untold amounts of RobCrack. No matter the occasion or event, he looked simply delicious and delighted in killing us one stare, smoulder, smirk or smile at a time. The foot and/or ankle is/are actually one of the more painful places to get tattooed. The more boney the location, the less tissue there is to spread out the sensation. The spots that hurt the worst were actually the top of the shield in the crease where the ankle meets the foot, and then Biggun’s name on the inside of the ankle over the malleolus. Then again, overall, I don’t think it hurts that much as long as you go in knowing what it feels like, which is to say kind of like a razor knick or bee sting. Yes, I love that Hubs was totally on board, even suggesting Saturday that I get started on the design so we could get it done over the weekend while we had time. It’ll be 13 years on Tuesday.

Marielle~ Free wifi in a hotel is a must, in my opinion! OH, a quick story to share. Littlun’ started soccer camp this week and this year the separated the elite players onto European teams (to mirror EuroCup, I’m betting) and Littlun’ is on Netherlands. He was all excited!

Tracey~ Congrats on the season and the tournament. Good luck in tonight’s game. I’m sure the boys aren’t quite ready to rest yet, no matter how tired their arms may be! Thanks for the good wishes. This year is kind of a big deal for me as this will make 13 years, and we’ve now officially outlasted my parents, who divorced after 12. It’s weird that something like that feels like an accomplishment. But, meh, I’m weird. Yes, this is the first year they are home alone together. Biggun’ stayed by himself some last year, but had summer school in the morning to lessen the hours, and Littlun’ stayed with a friend and his mom. She’s working this summer and unfortunately couldn’t keep him again this summer. So, we’re giving this a go. I laugh because I started staying home by myself during the summer at 10 and thought it was no big deal. Grandpa actually has a good relationship with his physical therapist, whom he sees three times per week. His name is Mark and he’s a car buff, so he chats up Grandpa all about the classic cars he used to own. Those he has no problem remembering!

Lynne~ I hope you get to feeling better quickly. Summer colds are never any fun… oh wait… isn’t it winter there? Well, no matter. Colds in general are no fun. Feel better soon.

Alright, off to get a bit of lunch.

So I'm trying to be good & not let myself get too far behind here again. I'm completely exhausted today though, so I'm really not up for much else than a little light reading and conversation anyway. :)

I had trouble sleeping last night and the night before that (early Sunday morning) I had to take my son to the emergency room because of a headache that kept waking him up. Poor little thing was crying inconsolably, and it was so unlike him that even his pediatrician was concerned. However, when we got to the hospital, the doctor in the ER treated us as if we were wasting her time. She looked at LilRob for less than five minutes before handing me a prescription for antibiotics for a supposed sinus infection, even though his sinuses were clear and he'd had absolutely no other symptoms of sinus trouble. Needless to say, I was stunned. I had to stop her from leaving the room without answering any of my questions, the first of which was whether or not it might be a good idea to do some additional tests, "just in case." She was wholly unconcerned and said it could wait until we followed up with our regular physician--who was the one who sent us to the emergency room to begin with!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Anyway. we're off to see the pediatrician in an hour after which I expect to spend my afternoon at the imaging center getting my son's head checked out properly. *Grr!*

A couple other things~

Caryn~ You reminded me that I finally got my first tattoo a few weeks ago. It's tiny, but will be a part of something more intricate now that I know I can tolerate the process. I had some small music notes placed behind my right ear, directly over the bone. Like you mentioned to Susie, I was expecting it to be painful there, but I the only thing I could feel was the vibration of the tattoo gun. (Well, it stung a tiny bit once it was done, but not at all during.) Anyway, I'm not expecting every tattoo to be as painless, but it was a pleasant surprise & of course, now I can't wait to get the rest of it finished! :D

Susie~ You think we'd be invited, huh? I personally think we've already missed the boat. I honestly think that those two are about as married as their going to get. Whether or not they'll make it official according to the government? Who knows? But they're obviously happy the way things are. That's just my take on it though. ;)

Brenda~ There have been a couple of times over the years where I've wondered if Rob hasn't kicked back a few before an event myself, but as I've said when it came up in the past, why do people seem to care so much? Or why must they be all malicious about it? First of all, the man's perfectly legal. And second of all, can anyone begrudge him a drink or two when he has to deal with all that screaming? And the flash-bulbs? And the jet-lag?? Ugh... it gives me a headache just thinking about it. Anyway, speaking of drunk-Rob... What about his self-admitted "argument" with Adele? I keep trying to picture it, and for some reason, I find the whole thing highly amusing.

Everyone else~ Thank you so much for your loving and supportive thoughts. It means a lot to me, and while I still get ticked off that I'm even having to deal with this and sad that I had faith in someone and something that hurt me, I know that I'm not alone and it's nice to have a few extra people cheering me on. :)

Have a Wonderful Monday!

I'm feeling a little bit better this morning. Still sick of coughing, though.

Caryn - yes, it is winter over here, and everyone seems to be coming down with something.

Ginnie - I hope your pediatrician can help sort out what is wrong with your son. It's annoying when doctors don't listen.
