Finished watching the BBC version of P&P with Colin Firth today and I have to say I like the Keira Knightly version better. I know, I'll probably be shot for saying so, because most people think the BBC version is far superior, but I like the casting and locations better in the other one, and while both scripts are pretty close to the book, I get more of the wit in the Keira Knightly version. I'm sure I'll watch the BBC version again, but probably not as often since it's a LOT longer and I rarely have so much time.
I'm soooo tired today. I worked Monday evening until 9:30 and biked home in pouring rain. They are doing construction, so the path I usually take is ripped up and I had to take a detour that goes all the way around and doubled my trip. I was biking with another girl from work so neither of us had to bike in the dark alone, and she goes REALLY fast and I could hardly keep up with her. So I was pedaling for all I was worth, and by the time I got home my legs were JELLY. I showered but my body temp didn't want to regulate, so I was up late. At least I got in my cardio for Monday! Then yesterday I had choir and I noticed the last few times I've biked anywhere that it's really hard to pedal. So I ended up adding some air to the front tire when I got to choir and that seemed to help a bit on the way home, but my portable pump doesn't work as well as the regular one, so I need to add more, but as it was pouring rain again when I came home last night, I didn't bother. So another night of going to bed late...but again, I got in some cardio. Bug had a friend come to play today and they were really good and I didn't have to do anything, so I watched P&P on my computer and I was struggling to stay awake. I think it might be an early night.Sarah
, were you at the fair all day? My kids never last long even at the carnival. I can imagine you having to ply your niece with sugar to keep her happy!
Good for you writing again! I've never really written anything that wasn't for school or speech and debate, but I've thought about writing books or something, but in the end I think I'd rather read them than write them. How are you doing with Austen?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to HH-con here, though I won't be able to spend as much time as I'd like because I have rehearsals for choir that weekend. But it will be lots of fun to meet everyone!Lynne
, heavens no, I don't suppose they'd want to read EVERY book...and maybe you're right that they don't like that kind of book. Though, you said one was a romance book store? I am not usually a sci-fi girl, but I love romance, and I still love your book...there's a good balance there. But then, if they don't like sci-fi, and don't have any other reason to read your book, like that they are friends with you, etc, I suppose that might be reason for them to say no because they wouldn't KNOW it's got some romance in there. But hopefully you'll find some other ones who will say yes!!
, glad you had fun with your outing! It's nice that you have some friends to do things with now!
