I mean, come on, Melanie!! You're so tough and strong and smart and powerful, so they just HAVE to throw Jared in there to weaken you and dumb you down and mess you up!! Come on, Stephanie!!! MAKE A POWERFUL FEMALE CHARACTER WHO DOESN"T FALL IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!!
I totally respect your opinion, jacobrox, but I really think that love is one of the main points for this book. Can't female characters still be strong and powerful even though they've fallen in love? Love is what makes the world go round (I know, I know, I sound like a tree-huggin' hippie.)
I know I'm really young and I've never fallen in love before, but what I've heard from other people who
have fallen in love is that it totally turns their world upside-down!! They would do anything for their love! (Like how Bella would do anything, including sacrifice herself, to save Edward or Renesmee.)
Because Wanderer and Melanie fell in love is one of the reasons why I think they are strong and powerful characters!
And it wasn't just for
romantic love that Wanderer did all the things she did for. But for so many
different kinds of love. Like motherly love, brotherly love, sisterly love, love for your community, love for your friends, etc. (Yeah, definitely soundin like a tree-huggin' hippie.
)
Maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic, or maybe I'm just crazy, but that's what I honestly think. So if you don't enjoy reading about those kinds of characters, I suggest that you
don't read Stephenie Meyer's books.

p.s. wow, i didn't notice how many times I used the word "love" in this post. heheh
p.p.s. sorry this post is so long! but I can get really into ranting and raving about my ideas
