The Georgia books rock! Somehow i read the first 3 and the last 2 and missed all the ones in the middle. :( they are unbelieveably hard to find in my area. I don't blame anyone for using the glossary. you almost need it just for the Gee-isms. i'm sure there's an American phrase or two that'd make you stop and say "HUH?!?" but the british slang is part of the fun in my opinion. how accurate is that i wonder...

so like the books are just plain odd..

ok I shouldnt be here! I'll come back when I've read them again!
Which will be ages away as I have to read theHost, random other books, Twilight and reading twilight usually leads to reading the whole series..then I must read HP...
and Then comes Georgia N books!

Hey spartan et all,
sorry I don't have a Gee book on hand right now but as far as i can recall the glossary explains things like "spoon" (gee calls ppl that a lot for some reason), "kiwi-a-go-goland", lists the steps to the viking dances and has the snogging scale. it also translates things like "snogging" (or as we say in Texas, kissing) and the whole year/grade thing and about a zillion others for us Yanks. and its almost as funny as the story! does that clear it up?

ooohhhh Coolies - I always thought that Yanks started the word snog lol. and I get why you might have needed a glossary for the Years/Grades stuff, I've always found your system a bit confuzing myself so it's understandable that Americans feel the same about our system. Just to add on - Don't take all the stuff she says to be stuff that British people say. A lot of it is just the author trying to make her characters sound like modern teens using made up words that nobody actually does use. Having said that a lot of of it is commonly used in England - like Spoon as an insult. It's not really a southern word though  ( that makes it sound like the difference is like in America - which it isnt )

If anyone else wants to add some words they needed the Glossary for Please add : P

I read this series back in like, middle school, forgot all about them, and started reading it again last year. Unfortunately, the schoo library doesn't have it all, so I only read up to Nungas Nungas. And my friends like to look at me and go, "Nunga nunga!!"

We usually giggle like inane teengage girls.
