OMG, I am totally down for this. I was attempting the same thing, but I just don't have access to enough music for this. But I would love to see what you have, and maybe I will use all of my Christmas money to buy iTunes giftcards... I do have a list of songs that I think work for parts of all of the books, but I don't have songs for all parts (yet). I would LOVE to help you with this project!!!

Yaay! This makes me so happy...
Okay, I'll start making the list and checking it twice...
(Right now all I have is a hard copy of the book with a bajillion tabs sticking out and a playlist on my iPod that matches the sequence. i haven't yet written up a document/spreadsheet that covers everything so it can be recreated/understood by someone else).
I'll get this rolling tonight when I get back home and post tonight..
Watch this space!

I am so excited about this!! I would definitely love to help out as well!!
I do cry really easily though---something tells me that matching the tone of the music to the scenes is going to leave me bawling like a baby

I'm going to repost the above once I can do two things:
1) Find Youtube or other link where you can listen to these songs for free (but nor download them of course - no pirating here) so y'all can see what I'm talking about and
2) Figure out how to copy paste from an excel spreadhseet and keep the spacing right...
ANYONE KNOW WHAT TO DO ON #2 ??

This is so amazing. Hah.
There's also playlist.com, which is a big, free music site.
I'm not sure if they'd have all of the songs, though.
Wow, still. This must have taken a lot of time to comprise.

playlist.com...
*smacks forehead*
duhhh..
I'll do some searching and see if I can find at least the vast majority of all of this on playlist.com. That will make all of this much much easier for everyone involved - though, some of this is pretty weird stuff that I can't even find for sale on Amazon anymore that I've had since the mid-90's. It's mostly these songs that I'm looking for more "find-able" and thus more "socially acceptable" alternates. (Although I would like to point out there's no Tibetan Throat Singers on the list...
