I think the whole pregnancy issue was the reason I enjoyed the book so much, because of the whole element of surprise. For the rest of the series, we had been led to believe that it wasn't possible, but it was a huge revelation for me when Bella mentions in the narration something to the effect that men don't have fertility cycles etc. I realized I'd been looking at it from the wrong perspective; vampire/human relationships were rare, survivors of such relations even more so.
Although it would certainly be a downer, I'd really like to read this from Edward's perspective. Too much of his reactions/thoughts/opinions are left to the imagination.
