I was really suprised when Bella got pregnant, if female vampires cant have babys, then how can guys 'produce' them?! I totally fell in love with the character Renesmee though you can just imagine her to be so adorable and I love how she brings everybody together ;] I though when Renesmee was born it was pretty graphic and shocking! :o

I remember my initial reaction when I read that Bella was pregnant. interesting story:

I was flying home from my vacation in Canada, and I had a flight connection in Houston Airport. It was the day before the BD Midnight release party, and I had my copy of BD reserved at B&N. Anyway, my headphones had broken while I was on the plane, so I went to a bookstore within the airport to buy some headphones. When I reach the counter... low and behold: BREAKING DAWN IS THERE! I couldn't think straight. I payed for my headphones and ran out with out my headphones. I went back and then started wandering the airport in a daze. I wasn't even looking for my gate, i was in shock. I called all of my friends for moral support, so they could keep me from buying the book. But, unfortanetly, I caved in. I ran back to the store to buy the book, and then ran about 2 miles to my Gate (Houston Airport is humongous). When I got on the plane I started reading. I read all of Bella's Book Part 1 on the ride home, meaning, I stopped reading at the part when Bella got pregnant! I was shaking. I couldn't believe I had just read it, and that Bella was pregnant.

To conclude, after restraining myself from reading the rest of BD until of my friends had it, I realized how upset I was that Bella was pregnant. Then when the entire plot centered on Bella's pregnancy, i was so pissed off. When you wait for a book for almost an entire year, and its centered on something so, ugh, idk... you get dissapointed. Of course Bella would get pregant. Her pregncancy and Nessie made me realize the underlying sexist themes of the series. I still love Twilight more than most books.... but Bella's pregancy made no sense O.O (I wrote too much)

I hope my opinion about Bella's pregnancy doesn't upset people, that wasn't my intention... I have a hard time getting open-minded responses for my opnion.

Well, the males create the sperm like their bodies create venom. There is no cycle, no change, that they have to go through for that. But women have to go through cycles for ovulation, which vampires can't do.

Your opinion of the pregnancy is your opinion. But I don't understand how Bella getting pregnant is sexist. Women have babies. It's a fact of life. There isn't anything sexist about that.

although i was very confused that Bella was pregnant, deep down i was really happy.. edward's genes get to be passed down.. no wonder nessie is so beautiful.. but serioulsy i think every twilight fan knew that Bella was going to end up pregnant.. i think it was the logical thing to do.. plus Stephenie never did specifically say if they used protection.. i figured it was the whole "female vampires cant have babies so human girls cant have them either (at least with a vampire).. but that theory was shot since Bella's body never ever changed..

Bella being pregnant really shocked me but I kinda figured it out as soon as she started eating so many eggs. That was the only thing my aunt craved when she was pregnant so I tend to associate the two. I've got to add that I think SM's logic behind Bella conceiving was pretty logical. Since the girl has to be able to change to give birth it makes sense that a vampire female couldn't reproduce. But yeah, a dude stays basically the same through his adult life, guys can have children well into their golden years. Another thing I've got to say is that I can't believe how people say the books are anti-feminist. Isn't the point of feminism allowing women to choose how they want to live? If a woman wants to work, she can, if a woman wants a man and a family she can, that's the whole point.

I wasn't really at all shocked that Bella became preganant. I was actually happy that it happened. I was hoping that she would survive it. Nessie's birth was a major and important part of BD. I was glad that they were able to have a child together. I was also glad to see how Nessie brought everyone together. It was nice to see how the "friends" of the Cullan family came together to protect her. I fell in love with Nessie. She is one of my favorite characters from the entire Saga.

My feelings on this are :
I love the fact that Bella got pregnant. My favorite part of her pregnancy was when Edward heard Nessie for the first time. Well, heard her thoughts. At that moment I had goosebumps. lol He was so nervous about Bella and never actually thought about the fact that part of him was in Bella. That HIS baby was in there. He was against her before then. Only thinking of her as a creature killing Bella. But once he heard her it was as if his heart started beating again. At that moment he fell in love with his child. I thought that was amazing.

The second I read that she was wanting eggs all the time and that she got sick from the chicken, I KNEW she was pregnant. I had the same craving when I was pregnant... EGGS!!! LoL

Plus her becoming pregnant and having Nessie was when Edward HAD to change her. Which I think was the perfect way for her to become immortal. He didnt want to take her life from her. But now he had to, to save her. Just like Carlisle had done. So now he doesnt have to have any regrets because of her change.

I hope they make a movie of Breaking Dawn too. I would love to see how they portray Nessie and everything else.

EXACTLY. Which, although it was great and everything, was also one of the things that kind of irritated me. It was too perfect, too predictable.
Then again, I'm a fan of controversy - would have been great to see the discussions stemming from if she'd injected herself, or if he'd just gone and bitten her or whatever.

I am probably one of a small minority who was not pleased when she got pregnant. Initially reading it for the first time I was bothered by it. I thought, "damn it, they don't even get a chance to enjoy being together in a married sense without this HUGE responsibility". and then to add on top that the pregnancy almost killed her, I was livid. Plus in my reading I was convinced this would be some demon baby that would end up killing everyone and then my happy fantasy world would be destroyed... Alas that wasn't the case and Nessie ended up being a pretty cool kid. Now after reading the series many times over, I have begun to somewhat enjoy the pregnancy aspect and it makes more sense to me now.

Im glad that it was Edward that changed her.
The bond between them is now able to run deep. It is his venom that runs through her veins. It would have been wierd I guess for Carlisle to change her, with Edward kind of seeing her as a sister in a way? Carlisle created Edward and then if he created Bella, if you get my drift...
Although the pregnancy was quite predicatable, im glad it happend. It brought them so much closer together and Edward was able to get all that he wanted. A wife that loves him, a daughter that loves him and his happily ever after. <3

xoxo.
