I don't think he took steps at all. I think it was an irrational decision based on his pain and devastation. This is evidenced, for me at least, by the fact that he goes without confirming what he thinks has happened.

Absolutely. That drew him to her first, then I think her utter lack of fear of him was also a factor.

That is one of my favorite out takes too. I wish it had made into the book.

I wish it had made the movie...talk about having some fun with things...way better than any of the other BS CH put in...garden burger, whatever...and don't get me started on the no Meadow Scene...blowing a fuse now, must reboot hard drive... system failure, where's that smoke coming from...blue screen of death... :o
Oh please don't get me started everything the movie was not.

Agreed. I could fill multiple threads with that alone.

It's getting really old with everyone comparing the movie to the book--they had a minimum budget, had to hire a director within that little budget. Not only do even major budgeted movies not live up to the books, but not practically independent films. Time to move on from that criticism.

I look at it this way if you can use other referance and I know that the movie script could have been done better and left out a lot of scenery and did more of the story it would have been much better. Hardwick kept doing shots of scenery and I think that was the biggest mistake she made. There could have been dialog in those scenes but there wasn't so to me it was a waste of film and try to incumbus the book as well. That is just my opinion

OK,

New thread,

Edward's prior life to Bella...what was it like? What do you think his pursued are? How did he pass his time? What are his drives?

Hmm. I don't remember an overabundance of scenery, but then it's been awhile since I saw it.

But you're right - the script could have been wayyyy better, and that's nothing to do with budget.
