Many thanks to Echo 1 and Spooncha for the questions!

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward’s identification with Heathcliff?

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
She was a mortal who did what she could, by sacrificing herself, to save the one she loved. However, in Bella and Edward's case, he's already told her he can't live in a world without her, so Bella's attempt at killing herself would result in Edward doing the same.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
He could, if I remember correctly. Didn't he disappear in wolf form?

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
I'm sure he wants to ensure her that the vampires are the enemy, which would never happen.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward’s identification with Heathcliff?
Because the quote the book was open to was about blood drinking, and was quite dark and depressing, I suppose.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
They are both ordinary women - humans with no extraordinary abilities who loved men with extraordinary abilities. Both willing to die to save the ones they love.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
I suppose he could. But if he lived in the wolf's body, eventually the wolf would die. I would imagine it would be similar to if he a human body. Eventually if he stopped shifting into his spirit self, the wolf would age and die - like a human.

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
That she will realize that the vampires are bad and that she'd choose him over Edward.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward’s identification with Heathcliff?
They were similar in that neither Heathcliff nor Edward would harm their significant other's friends. As long as Bella and Catherine loved, they would do no harm. But Heathcliff also used the phrase "drink their blood" and that didn't sit well with Bella.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
They both sacrificed themselves to protect the ones they love from harm.
Bella injured herself so Victoria could be distracted, and in another scene, she escaped off so when James was after her, so the Cullens wouldn't get injured.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
He could if he wanted to. But I thought he died of old age, didn't he?

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
I think he was hoping that Bella would change her mind about being a vampire, and a perspective of a vampire. So he could be his Bella forever.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward’s identification with Heathcliff?
To tell you the truth, I have no idea. I just started reading the book, I am still struggling to understand the first 3 pages.

1. She is willing to sacrafice, or help her family when they are in danger.

2. Personally, I skipped all of that Legends stuff. I have no idea who it is.

3. Their relationship. He is now kind of opening up to her.

4. He didn't hurt Bella's friends, specifically Jacob.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
By being weak and helpless, all the while wanting and wishing that they could do something to help the situation. They would also both give up their lives to save the ones they love without hesitation.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
Sure, why not?

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
I think he just wants Bella to know more about the wolves *shapeshifters* and what they do. Also, he just wanted to have a nice, fun, relaxed time with her and hang out with their(his) friends.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward’s identification with Heathcliff?
Um...well I havent read that book (Wuthering Heights), but I'd guess it was because Edward was thinking about killing Jacob, but he decided against it because of Bella's friendship with him. Bella doesn't like to think of them fighting with each other. Also, I'd just like to say that it was so cute that Edward was reading Bella's book :P Sooo cute. And then, even cuter when he just threw the book out of the way when Bella woke up so his full attention could be on her.
