Re: Countries ARE really differnt
Euthanasia is legal here in Belgium aswell. We were the second country to allow it (just as we were 2nd in legalising gay marriage).
But, it is under extremly strict restrictions. Which should be according to me!
A few of the conditions are: that the patient has to ask in a good state of mind, repetitivly,... and there has to be at least a month between the asking and the euthanasia itself. There always has to be a 2nd doctor involved... There is a document that has to be filled out and all of that.
I'm defenitly pro euthanasia, in this restricted form. I've seen to much plant-like lives and people spending their last months/years in pain and terror. Why have to spend those last time suffering it out, not have any joy of life what so ever. In contrary.
I defenitly want to look into the fact if I can put in some kind of will that if I get demented (is that an english word), or paralised and live as a plant or whatsoever and there is no way for recovering I want my life to be ended. Of course it's each personal chose. But I'd rather have a life that's been good for a few years shorter then ending it in pure terror even though lengthing it.

Freaking cold! Actually we're starting to thaw where I am. Woot! It was 40 degrees today. HEAT WAVE! A friend of mine lives in Florida and he called to tell me it was 50 and he was freezing. Apparently they were all going to school in winter coats. Where I'm from that's warm enough for a beach party!goldeneyes wrote: whats the weather like where you are from?

Well, right now it's sorta cloudy and in the sixties (Fahrenheit). We've just been getting over some rain. It never snows where I live and winter is rainy season.

80 degrees and sunny in central Texas. But tomorrow it's supposed to get cold again, yuck. We had our first tornado of the season two or three days ago which means spring is almost here, yay! of course it may snow tomorrow like it does every Valentine's Day, but I hope not, people here cannot drive in bad weather.
That one's for Ianto. Risen Mitten, Life Knife, and that old classic...Stun Gun.

It was 65 today, but last week our highs were in the 20's and we had 3-4 inches of snow on the ground.

Re: Countries ARE really differnt
Down here winter's come early... it's only halfway through February, it's still summer, and it's been raining/cloudy for a while now!
And the climate in my city is windy, (yes, it's called windy Wellington for a reason ) not less than 5 or 6 in winter and not more than 25 in summer.
And those are all degrees celsius. I know that 16 C is 61 F, and 28 C is 82 F, but other than that...
It's kinda weird when it's the start of spring in the other hemisphere, people talking about snow...
