Re: The Dating Thread -- take 3
I forgot to ask him about the club thing. I'll ask him Tuesday.
Anyway. So we saw each other this morning as usual, and we had a door in between the space where we were standing. I leaned on one wall, and he leaned on the wall next to it, the only thing seperating us was the door. And we kind of just shouldered the wall and then we'd stop leaning for a second, and then we'd bounce back to the wall, etc. hehe. We laughed during our conversation a lot. And I'm fairly sure he checked me out a few times. Yay! I think. haha. I saw him a few other times during the day. At one point he was with some friends and I was getting all emo about him not being at our spot from last week, and I walked past him and his group without looking at him but I felt his eyes on me. I went outside to cool off for a few minutes and came back in. I went to go talk to him because I thought he was looking for me. He kept looking around the corner but he also did that when I was there with him, so I guess he wasn't even looking for me initially. When I got there, he looked at me a couple of times and he and his friend went outside. I wandered around the very small school, and then came back a few minutes after he'd come back inside. He started talking about a show we all watch and I mentioned how much I hated one character. He feels the same hatred for the character. One of my friends came to talk to me for a while and so that left him and his friend talking alone. This happened more than once today. Then this guy that is all clingy came to talk to me this morning. During the day when we were talking to other people, and even if we were across the room from each other, we glanced at each other several times and smiled. But we always do that. He wasn't in class because there was a blood drive thing and I guess that's what he was doing. When I got out of the class after that one, I saw him and I was walking out with one of the same friends (a girl friend, not the clingy creepy guy) and I saw him, smiled and waved, and he returned both the gestures. After she went off to the library, I stood there with him and saw one of his friends there with him. They were studying for a quiz. And I asked him if he wanted to borrow my notes from our class he missed, and he said he'd do that Tuesday. And then he headed off to class and I waved bye, and he waved bye back. And that was it.
Sorry this was so long. haha.

Okay, so Rosie is finally coming back to work this week (she hasn't been in at all for a fortnight) So, after I have studied next weeks rotors, the plan shall be put into place. I know where, but undecided on when, I want us to go. I suppose that will be decided by when and if we're both working.

Re: The Dating Thread -- take 3
I absolutely have reason to break up with Evan now. Besides the fact that he is utterly incapable of spelling anything longer than his own name. He is rude to his mother, constantly invades my personal space even AFTER I told him I don't like to be touched. Thinks he's a medical expert just because he's an EMT and thinks that female = in need of male protection.
PUH-leeze! I have walked further than the half a mile between his house and mine alone AT NIGHT! But he doesn't want me to walk it by myself in the daytime? With kids playing on the playground. Seriously? He says it's "dangerous", well who's in more danger in my hood, a preppy white boy who thinks he's in charge or a black chick raised in the ghetto? Espcially considering I've known everyone on my block since we were born.
He gets on my nerves. I am sick and he's been bugging me to hang out all the time. I AM SICK! Sick as in tackled a friend and her boyfriend both of whom have mono (thanks for telling me before I went over to your apartment guys) and have been surviving due to my high tolerance for pain pills and dayquil. Yeah, I really want to play video games with your Nazi-racist mom watching when I already feel/look like something you'd find in a litter-box.
So I can walk ten miles to the Kettle at two in the morning by myself, I was homeless for six weeks and took care of myself just fine but I can't walk down the street by myself in the middle of the afternoon? And who said he had any right to tell me who I can and cannot associate with? I am NOT his property to be told what to do, when to do it, and who to do it with. He can not stop me from hanging out with my friends whether or not he approves of them. I am not property, I am not a child. I am a living, breathing, adult human being and my judgement should be trusted when it comes to people I have known my WHOLE LIFE! He can feel free to attempt to influence me, but by no means am I at his beck and call.
...I really don't see how/why Bella put up with it.

Re: The Dating Thread -- take 3
Should I break up with my boyfriend?
He has other girls falling all over him and they're always flirting with him. And he flirts back. Even my best friends are always flirting with him. Ugh, what great friends they are. He went to a park with my best friend yesterday and she didn't even bother to invite me. And to make things worse, he didn't tell me, I found out from one of my other guy friends. I was crying so hard yesterday and I'm tired of hurting. Today he acted was overly nice to me and I got the feeling that he thought that I was going to end it right there.
When he's with me, it's like he's the only guy I could ever see myself with, but when I'm not with him I feel like there's no point. What should I do?

If he doesn't respect your feelings enough to stop acting that way with other girls to your face how do you know what he's doing behind your back?emmettsbiggestfan wrote:Should I break up with my boyfriend?

Talk to him, serious face-to-face conversation about how the things he does makes you feel, and if he doesn't change then he doesn't love you.

I feel bad for not reading all your posts but my head is throbbing. I read Lena's because it was conviently in a list. So...
Lena: Pfft. Boys will be boys. That's gross.
1. I knew this.
2. Grr.
3. This is untrue. You can like him and just not do anything about it.
4. This is obvious.
5. Not cool.
{ok, I just heard this strange beeping noise. it is quite possible my room may blow up before I post this post.}
So I don't have (much of) an update because I stayed home from school today (mostly). As I mentioned, at least in Christine's portion of my post, I am REALLY sick. I went to the doctor after school yesterday and got antibiotic and I stayed home today. Mostly. I didn't go to regular high school, but I came in for my high school/college class (Humanities - I've mentioned this pain in the buttocks before). So I went to humanities and we were discussing Freud! (haha, that's funnier if you've seen a particular episode of Friends - season 1. ;] ) So we got to the topic of "Freudian slips" - lapsus linguae (which means slip of the tongue) - and my friend (friend is a relative term here..) Dakota was talking about the read-through of our script (which I slept through....shhh) where he said something like, 'I need better than your breast!' (instead of best) and we were discussing how all slips aren't necessarily related to your unconscious thoughts. Apparently he "wasn't thinking about breasts." =P ok, that was a pointless story, but it was amusing for me. I'm not going to school again (mostly) tomorrow. I'm just going to my college class (Intro to Drama and Theatre) which is FLIPPIN' AWESOME. We're watching the end of Much Ado about Nothing. LOVE THAT MOVIE. I should start writing my paper comparing it to Taming of the Shrew. 0.o Oh well. Later. Heh. I should go to bed soon! Peace out, homeskillets.

Re: The Dating Thread -- take 3
Just gonna cut in, with my own little problems (:
Well I like a guy, and I think he likes me. We're into a lot of the same things, but he's slightly older. I only know him from all the gigs I go to - because as it happens, he always seems to be at the same ones as me. He's in a band (bassist) and I always mean to go over to him after a gig and congratulate him on his awesomeness, but I just think it'll be so cheesy and I get too nervous.
I haven't spoken to him that much, apart from the passing 'Hi', but I've caught him looking at me (I can say I look at him a lot too ) and he's always smiled and looked like he was going to come over but then you know, moments passed and such. We're in different years which makes it complicated as we have no direct reason to talk, and I'm shy and he's not exactly super shy, but he's not one of the boastful, obviously outgoing ones.
I don't know how to talk to him, or find a situation where we can talk. If not for anything else than to find out about him, maybe become friends, seeing as we appear to have a lot in common.
Anyone got any tips?
Thank you!!

EDWARDLIKESHAYSTACKS:
*swoon* This guys sounds awesome! I hope you continue talking and getting to know each other. And take the hand-kiss thing, definitely. Sounds much better than a lousy old hug. ;] :]
MARY:
You can never like someone too much. (Unless you're like a stalker... Then forget I said anything...) Haha. But sounds like you and Andy are really good friends (just like me and my Andy! Haha.) Or at least you have potential to be really good friends. Maybe one day after school, invite him to get some coffee with you or something. Any opportunity is a good opportunity. :]
SAM:
Hahah my school's musical always has live music, too. Sooooo fun, I know... ;] And I'm sorry Freddy was creepin' on you again! Not cool! Hopefully, since you haven't been at school, he won't like come to your house or anything... Hahaha. Seriously. I hope you feel better, though! I'm sorry you're sick! *hugs* :]
LENA:
Oh, AMAZING massages? Hahah my mistake! ;] But hmmm... sounds like you could really end up liking this guy. Which is okay. Even if he does have a girlfriend. (Hasn't stopped me... Hahahah. ;]) But just because you like him doesn't mean he has to know. You can't help how you feel. So if you do end up liking him, maybe try not to flirt with him as much or anything, to protect yourself. And who knows, maybe he'll fall madly in love with you and break up with his girlfriend so he can put YOU on a pedestal. ;] :]
CHELSEEUH:
Ask about the book club already! Haha. ;] But it sounds like you had a fairly good day with him. You had some casual conversation, exchanged some greetings. That's always a plus. The more of that you can strategically coerce, the better. ;] Haha. Basically what I mean by that is, make as much conversation as is possible without seeming clingy, and get to know this guy better! :]
GOYMER:
YAY, Rosie's coming back! You'll have to let us know how your whole little plan works out! It sounds super cute, so good luck! :]
CONTESSA:
You are completely right! Evan sounds like a douchebag... I'm sure he didn't seem that way at first, but now that he's trying to restrict you and stuff... That's not cool at all. I give you full permission to break up with him! ;] You definitely don't need to put up with someone like that. How annoying. Good luck with getting rid of him! Haha. :]
EMMETTSBIGGESTFAN:
I'd say, before you jump to breaking up with him, TALK TO HIM. Definitely. If he doesn't know how you feel, he's never going to correct himself. So tell him what's on your mind, what he's done that's hurt you, etc. If he doesn't change, or acts like nothing's wrong, THEN you can break up with him. Good luck! :]
DAZZLINGDYNAMITE:
Welcome to our thread! :] This guy sounds super cute! (I totally have a thing for bassists. ;]) My suggestion: go up to him after the next show you see him in and tell him he did a good job! He'll really appreciate and you all can strike up a conversation! Just be very casual about it. Don't be afraid to say something to him; trust me, he'll be really happy if you do. Good luck, and keep us posted! :]
Update:
Show tonight. Hope it goes well.
Will = as creepy as ever.
Andy = love of my life. But you already knew that.
I have specific stories to tell, but I don't have time to tell them right now... I will later, though, if I remember. :]

Re: The Dating Thread -- take 3
Yo yo yo. Week of Hell is OVER, thank you Jesus. :]
So, today was weird. (Dating wise, that is.) First I'll outline the events of this morning, then this afternoon.
MORNING
I woke up to the dulcet tones of M.I.A. rappin' all hardcore (I want to come back in my second life as M.I.A. SHE IS SO COOL) and I jumped out of bed and did a happy dance because a.) it was Friday and b.) it was Friday. I threw on my converse and my favorite pair of jeans and this really cool/pretty oversized lightweight sewater that I have (for the longest time I always saw people always walking around in these and they looked so cool, so I deicded it was high time to get myself one. ex: http://photos.jpgmag.com/629987_141733_3c2652dcb1_l.jpg) and ran downstiars. I grabbed my oversized purse/bag thing that I used in place of a backpack because it's way cuter and a bagel for the road and headed out.
I won't outline the details of my walk to school, but I rolled in in time for the Beta Club meeting that was that morning and when it was over, I went with my friend Lizzie to put her flute in the band room. (My friend Sara also came with us.) We walk in and I look to my right and KSHFLAHRLIBFOUBAC I have a major heart attack. Why, you might ask?
.....
Because John and his annoying faux-girlfriend were right there, sticking their tongues down the other's mouth! And I was like ".....wah?" because I really couldn't form sentences. I mean, they were all over each other. It was gross, but at the same time I was like "Da** I wish that were me!!" (;]) Needless to say, this kind of put me in a weird mood all day. I mean, who wants to start their day off by seeing the guy they've had a crush on forever sticking him tongue down some mean girl's mouth? And the thing is, even though they're being all touchy-feely, they're not really "dating". They're just kind of having a....weird hookup buddy thing. Which is so unlike him it freaks me out. But whatever. Teenage boys like sex (I need to ask one of my guy friends if all that crap girls hear about "boys think about sex 200 times a day" is true) and maybe he's just getting out his sexual impules. But hey, it's not like I couldn't help him out with that too! :]
AFTERNOON
[Which was even WEIRDER than this morning!]
I'm at my locker getting my stuff out and this girl named Brittany comes over. We've known each other for a long time but we're not buddy-buddy or anything, so I was kind of suprised when the following conversation took place:
Brittany: "I have something to tell you!"
Virginia: "About what?"
Brittany: "I can't tell you! You have to guess!"
Virginia: "Do I get a hint?"
B: "Well, I don't know. Someone made me promise not to tell anyone, so I can only tell you if you guess."
V: "....I honestly have no idea what you're talking about."
B: "Fine! I'll give you a hint. It's about a boy."
V: "Please tell me my freshman stalker didn't send you."
B: "Ew no, he's not a freshman."
V: "So who is it?"
B: "I can't tell you! You have to guess!"
It went on like this for a while longer and finally she was like "I have to go to softball, but I'll only tell you if you guess right!" (Which I found kind of creepy, but whatever.) SO, I have no idea if this is for real, or if she's pulling my leg. I know she's not trying to pull some mean trick on me, but I don't know, she likes to gossip and I wouldn't put it past her to blow something like this way out of proportion. On the other hand, I'm kind of excited, I guess? Does this mean some secret mystery man has a crush on me? Of course, this is going to drive me INSANE all weekend, but hey, too bad.
Dear God, let it be someone cute!
:]]]]
Love ya'll; I'll be back later to dish out my oh-so-wonderful advice, ha ha.
So, today was weird. (Dating wise, that is.) First I'll outline the events of this morning, then this afternoon.

Love ya'll; I'll be back later to dish out my oh-so-wonderful advice, ha ha.

Re: The Dating Thread -- take 3
Hello everyone. I've been dating the same girl for about a year now so I must be doing something right haha .
We actually met at a softball game at school, and started talking. I was reading a certain book at the time, and was not to keen on her discovering what it was. However I left it on the bench when I headed to the restroom ,and she saw the picture of the hands holding an apple. Apparently she was also reading it so we had something to talk about. So I really do have to thank Twilight for my girlfriend
