I think I need some tutoring from Marielle and Suzan on bike laws. I went to the theater to pick up my ticket for the marathon tonight because I know it’s going to be insanely busy tonight and I don’t want to have to stand in line for an hour. So I rode my bike, but I got SO confused...when I go to work, it’s almost straight through...I only have to cross a street once on a roundabout and then twice straight across a street, and the first few times I went, I rode with colleagues so I didn’t have to worry about knowing the laws...I just followed their lead. But to get to the theater, I have to cross a street left where there is no stoplight. In America, you can’t cross lanes in an intersection, so you have to make sure if you are turning left that you are in the left lane. But here, there are special bike lanes..,and they are to the right of the car lanes. So if you need to turn left, do you cross over into the left car lane or do you stay in the bike lane and wait until there is an opening in traffic and cross? I ended up just getting off my bike and crossing at the cross walk because I didn’t want to break a law and I didn’t know what I was supposed to do...I felt so stupid!!! But I made it and I have my ticket. YAY!!!
So, once again, I’m mad about schools. Most of you know that I was upset last year when we were told the Christian school our children attended would be closing at the end of the year and we would have to send them to a different school. We looked at several different options and finally went for the public school because it is close and all the kids in the neighborhood go there, so it wouldn’t be at risk of closing..or so we thought. Yesterday we got a letter saying that they are building a new school...a bigger school, and our school and at least one other will be closed and all the kids will then go to the new school...that is not within walking distance. I am SO mad. Apparently they have known about this since 1999 and no one told us...they gave us a tour and “sold” the school to all of us as a great option for us so our kids didn’t have to go so far or worry about it not having enough students and it needing to close...and they said NOTHING about the fact that they would be closing eventually, too. Granted, the letter says it will open in 2016, so we have a few years...but my kids will still be elementary school age and that is just too far to ask small children to go...they will have to ride their bikes and cross one of the busiest intersections in our town. There will be no school in our neighborhood at all anymore. LIVID that they didn’t tell us. It would have weighed heavily on our decision...now our kids will have to switch schools yet again.

Sean, oh, ok...you said you were waiting for the Doctor to put the perscription through to the pharmacist, so I thought it was the doctor you were waiting on...the pharmacist can’t do anything until they get the perscription from the doc, obviously. Did you get it now?
I agree about Kristen’s dress...I didn’t think it was that bad. I was expecting much worse from the comments.

Hi Ginnie! Good to see you!!!

Hi Susie! Did you get to see the premiere afterwards? I didn’t know where to look for it today, so I haven’t seen anything.

Lynne, so basically, you’re like Diego the Animal Rescuer, but female and not of latin decent? Go you!

Tracy, how exciting! It’s nice to have a change. Do you know what you want for a comforter and such?
Mmmmm....potato soup. That sounds so good! I might have to do that soon. Good weather for it.
I’ve done that before...I almost always do my post in word first, unless there aren’t many posts and they will all fit on the page when I post so I can look back at what people have said. But before I had word on this laptop, I couldn’t do that, and I’ve made a few mistakes.

Brenda, did you happen to see Ann Marie? Did she get anywhere visible?
Ohhh,...good idea with the always correct spelling. I would add always the correct use of there/their/they’re, your/you’re, it’s/its, whether/weather, then/than etc.

Sarah, what did Jason make for dinner? Sorry to hear about the kitten, but hopefully you can still get one, even if it’s not the one you fell in love with.
Wow...my hubby likes Gilmore Girls so I don’t have that problem, although he isn’t really into watching things over and over and over.

Marielle, Have fun! I thought you were going to the whole thing today...I’m only going to see parts 1 and 2...they aren’t showing all of them here. But I’ll take it. I’ll probably have to wait till tomorrow to post my thoughts because I have to get up tomorrow morning to take the kids to school...I’ll need to go to bed as soon as I get home tonight.
So happy for you about the mortgage!!

See you all tomorrow!

Susan... you'll have to remember that bikes almost always go first but nobody keeps to that. When you have to turn left where there is only a bike lane on the right then indeed you'll have to wait till you get the chance. Best thing to do is to stickout you hand move to the left side of the lane and just make the crossing when you can.

All right I'm sitting eclipse will begin soon!!!

I actually have a question about the Halfway House -- is this something that anyone is allowed to join, or is it a "closed group?" It's fine if it is closed, I'm just wondering. :)

Still trying to get on here every once in a while, when I remember that I can still get this site at work cause I can't pull up most of them. No FaceBook, no Photobucket, no Pinterest...so most of the time I forget that I'm sitting here at work with an arsenal of information at my fingertips and trying to type on my teeny tiny phone keypad.

Anyway, HEY YA'LL!!! I've missed you! (Those that aren't on FB) I've got tickets for Friday at high noon and again for Sunday at 5:30. I just found out today that the one I'm supposed to be going with on Friday may have to back out because her family wants her to go to the beach! Can't even imagine! Her husband and son-in-law are going fishing...on the ocean...in kayaks... And her daughter wants her to come down Thursday after work and bring her son, but I don't think he wants to go.
But that means I will have an extra ticket! I don't know anyone else that could go Friday. I do hope that giving away a ticket is not illegal...
Then Sunday I'm taking the boys and the husband. I just know this is going to be good!

Got to get back to work before I go home so I'll be on later.

Hey Skatepixie, I'm Sarah and a fellow newbie :) I've only been on the forum for a little over a month and the group here has welcomed me in :)

I am SO jealous of you guys who are ahead of the US, as you're seeing BD 2 ahead of us...ugh, three more days!!!

Not much going on with me..finally going to get my hair cut today and check out a few kitties. I need to get my house cleaned before then, but as usual I'm procrastinating. I saw more photos of the premiere, very cool seeing everyone..but there some of the newer vampires/actors I didn't recognize though!

Song-Jason cooked pork, mashed potatoes, salad, and garlic bread. He knows I don't care for meat very often, so I quite enjoyed all the side dishes. Yum! Haha, most guys aren't into watching things over and over. He does enjoy That 70s Show, Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother though. I'm having lunch with my MIL on Thursday, she finally nailed me. Ugh. Jason reminded me that I have BD 2 the next day, thank God.

Okay, I'm off to tackle my kitchen, do laundry, and rearrange my living room!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Yes, Skatepixie - we're an open group. The more the merrier! Tell us about yourself!

Looks like we're losing a few for a few days - Brenda and Lynne. I had a dream that I saw BD2 and there was absolutely nothing different from the book. Everyone was kind of disappointed because we were expecting something exciting. Strange feeling of let down. Well, I'm pretty sure that's not gonna happen!

Grayce
- Welcome back! That's too bad about your friend possibly backing out on you for BD2. I'm sure you can find a lucky person to give your ticket to at the theatre. Maybe go a little early for that.

Marielle is at probably watching BD2 right at this very moment. She is going to have a very hard time NOT SPOILING!! Enjoy yourself, Marielle! AGREE about the short hair on Rob. WHY couldn't he just have kept it? Congrats on the mortgage! My guest room is one step closer to a reality.

Sean
- Of course you liked Kristen's dress. I actually see the glamour of it and you're right - it's similar to Cher's dress. I recently watched one of her movies, Mermaids. Have you seen that one? I love it.

Ann Marie
- 2nd row is pretty darned good also! Don't catch a cold. Lots of cups of tea, OK? Make sure to get some good pics for us.

Tracy
- You are a painting maniac! You must have nearly done all the rooms in your house by now. That's quite a "coming of age" thing - moving downstairs!!!

Songbird
- I've been to Holland enough times to know just what you're talking about regarding bicycles! Yikes! It scares me to death even to be a pedestrian. I'm glad you got to your destination. Enjoy the movie!

Sarah
- Your hubs sounds like a keeper - making a home cooked meal! I'm glad he's coming around to the idea of getting a cat. The only problem with "looking" at an animal shelter is that it's hard not to fall in love with a kitten then and there. It's hard to just look.

See you later, all!

*GASP* Tonise! :? I'm still not added back to the siblings list!!! So.... So....I was adopted!!! Say it isn't so!!!

Hey wait, maybe that means that there's a vampire family out there with my name on it... HAhaha! ;)

If I promise to post once a week can I be a sibling again?

Why are you rearranging your living room,TwilightFan87?
