Hello everyone~
I hope all of you are well. I actually had today off work because the census (number of patients) at our skilled nursing facility is very low right now, and there aren't enough inpatients at our facility for all the therapists to treat and still remain 80% productive with direct patient care activities, which has pretty much become an official requirement of our national company. I didn't mind taking off an extra day this week (and the next if necessary) because we still have painting to do, Christmas shopping to finish, presents to wrap, etc. We finally finished painting the downstairs master bedroom and bathroom, moved in our bedroom furniture, and have been sleeping downstairs for more than a week. It's funny.....even though it's the same king sized bed we've had since we first married almost twenty years ago, it actually seems more comfortable in this "new" bedroom. I'm very happy with the colors we chose for these rooms (a pretty taupe color for the bathroom and master closet, and a rich mocha/milk chocolate color (??) for the bedroom. I found a lovely comforter for the bed (hubs could care less what it looks like
), and we hung a new ceiling fan, light fixtures, and mirrors. Today I primed the master bedroom closet walls, shelves, and ceilings to prepare them for painting. If we can finish painting the closet this weekend....we can finally move our clothes out of the living room!
It will
almost feel like I have my house back to normal.
Songbird~ I hope your husband feels better soon, because I know how husbands usually are not model patients
, especially when you probably need his help getting ready for the birthday extravaganza this week.
Sarah~ I hope your husband enjoyed his birthday and that was sweet of you to meet him for lunch. My daughter and I absolutely love Panera and I haven't found a salad, sandwich, or soup that I didn't like. What does this year's Hallmark Twilight ornament look like? I've never thought to buy one in the past, but think it would be a great way to commemorate the series, now that's it's finished. I also stay up later than everyone else in my family on weeknights, and it's sort of my "quiet time" to Lex, surf the internet, read, etc. Hubs requries more sleep to function than I do, so he usually heads to bed around 9 or so on weekdays, but we always go to bed at the same time on weekends.
Caryn~ It seems like you are especially busy at work with the big project....hope all goes well. Will you and the family head to Disney for the big soccer tournament in January, as usual? I didn't watch the papz videos, but it's sad that Rob and Kris are still getting mobbed at airports and in public places and being shouted and screamed at so randomly.
I guess I'd naively hoped the frenzy might die down just a bit with the release of BD2, but apparently not. I hadn't really kept up with the $$ numbers for BD2, and that's great news that it's having such a successful run, everywhere. I really hope they keep BD2 in the theaters well after the holidays. It's not as if there are ever that many great movie releases in January or February anywhere, and wouldn't watching Robward on the big screen one more time make a lovely Valentines' Day treat?
I'll be interested to see if Summit does release some sort of extended editions for all the movies, and would consider purchasing it if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Brenda~ I'm glad to hear the first counseling session went well; keep us posted. Good for you keeping those creative juices flowing and working steadily on your fanfic. Didn't you have an entry in one of the canon tours last year? I'm almost positive I remember reading it and enjoying it very much.
Marielle~ Your dream was hilarious, and I love how well the HH was represented. Even Austin and Sean came to the Holland HH Convention--awesome! Chocolate, wine, and Rob....what more could a girl ask for?
Lynne~ Your dog's behaviors and lack of eating are concerning, and I hope you're able to get in to see the vet again and receive some reassurance. I also hope your blood tests were routine and that you receive good results. Not taking on any additional editing jobs sounds like a great idea so you can attempt to enjoy the holidays and focus on editing your own books.
Susie~ I loved the HumpDay gift you posted here.....it seemed to highlight every kind of Robporn imaginable!
How was your ToastMasters meeting tonight? That's great news that your writing is coming along so well, and I look forward to hearing your coworker's thoughts about your memoir, especially since she is such an impartial observer with little knowledge of the Twilight saga. I hope you noticed I'm trying to stick to at least an every other day posting schedule here, unless we're out of town. Thanks to you for giving us the gentle encouragement we need to keep the Halfway House fires burning.
Sean~ I'm sorry your birthday was such a sad occasion and hope you have the opportunity to celebrate it under better circumstances soon. I hope you get some rest and feel better, and am sure the stress of your grandmother's death as well as family issues have contributed to your symptoms.
Amanda Beth~ I think you had mentioned reading Cassandra Clare's books in a previous post. Have you read both of her series, and did you prefer The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices? I actually may be a little more partial to The Infernal Devices, although it varies depending upon which book I'm reading at the time.
I loved exploring the more distant setting and time period, and all the unique challenges that growing up in that time and place caused for Tessa. It's so interesting how she released the books from both series on an alternating schedule. I look forward to rereading all the books consecutively in order of release when she's finished to see what clues I've overlooked.
Suzan~ Thanks for linking the "Rob is Bothered" Thanksgiving skit for us.....that was too funny. I liked that Jimmy wore something resembling Robward's peacoat in this skit. I actually checked out the Robisbothered.com website, and it linked back to all the "Rob is Bothered" videos at Jimmy Fallon's website. I caught up on a couple I missed, but still think the iPad sketch is my favorite. Jimmy's inconsistent accent and the "growling" crack me up every time.....guess that's supposed to represent Robward's vampiric menacing growl, or the fact that many of Rob's followers are cougars, like myself?
I, too love Jimmy Fallon and his adorkable silliness. He always seems so approachable and sweet and funny....almost like the class clown or funny neighborhood kid everyone knew way back when.
