Hmm, what i've overcome - firelight

You loved me 'cause I'm fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.

Gravity- Sara Bareilles

well this is how it starts two lovers in the dark
on the run from the one that they call Sheriff Sparks
six guns by the side and bullets 'round their waist
two shots to the sky signal sign for the chase.
the safe is nearly empty and they were nearly free
but were seen by the good eye of the mean Billy Queen
and he screamed at the top of his lungs "they're on the run"
It's the two outsiders grab your horses and your guns

DIRTY HEADS - Lay Me Down ?
Everybody's looking at me
I'm running round in circles baby
A quiet desperation's building up
I've got to remember
This is just a game

Beautiful Lie- 30 seconds to mars.

The greatest let down leaves
(a taste in my mouth, taste in my mouth)
a blind and blank routine
(we're waiting it out, waiting it out)
theyre wearing me out with their happy town lies
(the small town weather, small town weather)

That is "Heartsink" by Blood Red Shoes

Next:

I'm trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
The best thing you've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously, it's only life after all
Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
And lightness has a call that's hard to hear
I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it, I'm crawling on your shore.

I KNOW THAT SONG! oh, what's it called, what's it called...?
Closer to Fine, Indigo Girls! I used to LOVE that song!

When you can't get up to the cold morning light
But you don't get to sleep in (still dreaming)
And everybody only wants to fight
You're up against never being right

That is "Today Will Be Better, I Swear" by Stars

Next:

There's foxes in the hen house
Cows out in the corn
The unions have been busted
Their proud red banners torn
To listen to the radio
You'd think that all was well
But you and me and Cisco know
It's going straight to hell

A little bit more of the lyrics to help:

So come back Woody Guthrie
Come back to us now
Tear your eyes from paradise
And rise again somehow
If you run into Jesus
Maybe he can help you out
Come back Woody Guthrie to us now

Okay, that was Steve Earle's "Christmastime in Washington."

Try this one:

The first cut is the deepest, Baby I know —
The first cut is the deepest
'Cause when it comes to being lucky, she's cursed
When it comes to lovin' me, she's worst
But when it comes to being loved, she's first
That's how I know
The first cut is the deepest.

The song is The First Cut Is The Deepest, and it's been done by so many people that I'm not sure which you're referring to.

She said I think I'll go to Boston
Think I'll start a new life
I think I'll start it over
Where no one knows my name
I'll get out of California
I'm tired of the weather
Think I'll get a lover
And fly him out to Spain
