The character's most defining trait is her appearance and not personality. Which is what I believe should be brought out...and that doesn't really need a good actress. I mean, how hard would it have been to find a natural blonde to play the part?

If Nikki Reed had to be in the film so bad, she could have played Jessica or someone. I'll be frank. She's not pretty enough to play Rosalie.

Nepotism would come into play if she was related to a casting dir or something like that, I haven't heard that...Rose may not act much in this film, but that doesn't mean they should just hire a pretty girl, if the rest of the books are made, they will need someone with some chops...plus, she does have to act in this film and I personally, would hate it if the actress who played Rose was beautiful, but unconvincing.

I have watched this video so many times. It's the second video. At the end, she says my favorite quote she's ever said.

I think that this especially applies to Nikki as Rosalie. Some people don't think that she is pretty enough. (althought i think she is plenty pretty ) Well, as we all know, there is no way that they could have gotten the absolute prettiest person on the planet to play Rosalie. That person just doesn't exist. They got Nikki because she is pretty and she is a great actress. In my opinion, those are brilliant reasons to hire her.

I think that Nikki is going to do great as Rosalie. I can't wait to see how she portrays the very deep Rosalie.

They could of cast a WAY better rosalie.

Nikki Reed looks so strange as Rosalie, she doesn't even look beautiful. The wig makes her look fake n gross, and the clothes iv seen her wear are pretty ugly. Although Nikki Reed IS a really good actress and she is pretty in thirteen.

I agree. I never said that Nikki Reed is hideous, nor is she a bad actress. In fact, she's probably a darn good one.

But for the Rosalie character, LOOKS MATTER.

I don't think they even made a big casting process for Rosalie.

you can see Nikki Reed has worked a lot with Catherine Hardwicke, in Thirteen and In Lords Of Dogtown.
so she probably just offered her the role?

i think she's gorgeous, but yeah.
maybe there was someone more "Rosalie" than her.

Wow...she always looks so different!

at first when i heard that Nikki Read was playing Rosalie i wasnt sure because ive seen her in thirteen and didnt think she could pull off playing a vampire but now i love her when im reading one of the book i can picture her face perfectly and shes very beautiful which is a plus

They should have picked someone better for Rosalie's part IMHO. Nikki is pretty but she's so not pretty as a blonde! Btw, her hair is so ugly in the movie. It's not convincing at all. There is an actress in Rebelde (idk if you guys watch it) that would be a perfect Rosalie. She's so beautiful as a blonde and she plays like a mean and vain girl. It's a shame she's mexican and I doubt she speaks english. Oh, well.
