Not true. Vanessa Hudgens' reps said that she did not try out and Melissa Rosenburg said that if Vanessa did try out, then Vanessa would've had to write Leah in, because Leah is not going to be in NM. There's not really a need for her to be in NM since the only time she's present in the book is at the spaghetti dinner at Jacob's house.

Who do you lovely darlings think would make a good 'Alec'? If this has been discussed already, sorry, I've been elsewhere lately. I think they were taking a poll somewhere it had the guy from "High School Musical"(I think) and three other guys. Sorry, this is lame of me to not remember where in the world I saw this.

If anyone from HSM tried out for anything Twilight I'd kill someone. They don't need to taint the Twilight world.

I always pictured Alec like the little kid from Finding Neverland, Freddie Highmore. And Jodelle Ferland as Jane. despite hair colors.

okay I don't know what is happening to me, I was dead set against Dakota being Jane but now every time I look at a pic of Dakota I see Jane, and I am actually excited! what is wrong with me!?!?!

The hype is getting to you, Mandy. The media's planting an image of Dakota as Jane in your head, the best solution would be to find a picture of someone else and picture them as Jane.

Was the "Hide and Seek" movie the one where Dakota played Robert DeNiro's daughter? I think he played a psychiatrist who moved to the country with his daughter to start their lives over after the death of his wife (her mom). If this is that movie, Dakota was extremely creepy, scary, and manipulative and it's the first movie I thought of when I heard she was being considered for the part of Jane. (If this was a different movie, forget what I just said! lol)

Anyway, I think Dakota is very talented and has always seemed more serious about her craft than other actors in her age range. I think she can totally pull off Jane's evil side. I wonder if she might even bring a little more credibility to New Moon, particularly for fans who are not very familiar with the Twilight franchise, or those who may have dismissed it as a "teeny-bopper love story", as my husband would say.

kinda drifting from Jane but could anyone see Charlize Theron as Heidi? not how I originally pictured Heidi but I could see Charlize as her.
