Re: Teenagers Unite III
Well my sister (who's nearly 14 ) is reading the books and i don't think she fully grasps all the concepts in the books but me being 18 i can relate to them quite a bit and understand everything. so i reckon younger than 13 is possibly a bit too young.

eliselovesedwardx, That's how I feel too.
I have an 11 - year old sister, and she tells me how girls in her class read the books and love them. Well, some of the girls reading those books are 10 years old, and I know them, and I know that they are not NEARLY mature enough to appreciate them. When they come over and talk about htem, all they do is swoon over how hot Edward is, they don't even care about the storyline, or relationships, or complexity of the Saga. I have met some younger readers on this site, and they seem very mature, and I can tell that they can fully appreciate the books, so they are justified in reading them. But I just can't stand listening to younger kids talking about how they are the biggest Twilight fan, like, EVER OMG, when all they care about is how chiseled Edward's abs are. It reaally gets under my skin.

You know what, Lauren, you're completely right!
I hate when people just read it because it "hot" now. Ugh.

Yes!
Don't worry Chloe! Heaps of my closet Lex friends are 13 and I know that they understand the books and everything - you guys are really mature for your age. I'm saying people younger than 13-ish..But I know HEAPS of 13 year olds who understand it better than older people..
Just..It annoys me when they don't read into the story, instead it's simply about the characters and how much they love them and how hot they are etc etc..it drives me up the wall!

Re: Teenagers Unite III
Why, thank you Chloe! *takes bow*
I read them when I was 13 (I'm almost 15 now) and I like to believe that I grasp them completely...I think that when you really get down to the point, it all depends on your maturity. If you're 10 and really mature, then you can read the books and really comprehend what is happening. Conversely, if you're 14 and are rather immature for your age, you may just enjoy them because of the inhuman beauty of the male (or female, i suppose) characters. *shrugs* So it just depends. I say no certain age.

Re: Teenagers Unite III
I'e been told i'm really mature for my age, and I don't like the books for the "hotness", but because it's a great story.

Yeah, that's right. i think when you're too young, you lack the experiences and things to understand what's going on and such.
But it is a personal decision.

Chloe - i never said that ALL 13 yr olds couldn't grasp the book just that my sister doesn't quite get bits sometimes. i know there are some extraordinarily mature people on here who are loads younger than i am who understand everything in the books perfectly.

No, no, no. I never meant it like that. I'm just saying that SOME, not all, get it.
Nevermind.
