Wow, has it been confirmed? By the way, is Peter Jackson the director for The Hobbit?
I'll be very thrilled and excited to watch it!

So long as Peter's still doing it, I trust it will be amazing. He lived up to my expectations with LOTR, so I'm sure the Hobbit will be amazing. Is Ian Holm (I think that's his name.) still playing Bilbo?

Peter is just producing the movie, I don't remember who's directing now.
Sad, neh?
Sindarin is a very pretty language, and after reading a plethora of other fantasy books, I've never found another non-Common/English language to compare to it. Its amazing.
Klingon does sound fun to learn....

My brother just liked it because it is so guttural and simple. He said there was no way to speak Klingon and still sound like the wimp he was. So, I guess if your looking for a language that makes you sound like a seriously ticked of manly man, Klingon might be for you.
Of course there isn't much use for it here on earth unless you want to mess around with customs officials at the airport.

Re: Hobbit Village~ The LoTR General Discussion Thread
Hi guys! Nice to see some interest in this thread!
Spock is SO totally supposed to be attractive! It even happened in the 1960's (much to Roddenberry's shock and dismay).
So, how many of us are interested in the whole LOTR, Twilight, Star Trek thing? That could be an interesting topic of dscussion. I have found that a geek in one theme is often a geek in others. Twilight is my only vampire geekdom.
Here are my geeky themes (I have never told anyone just how many fantasy worlds I like to loose myself in, so this is a little scary):
LOTR, Twilight, Star Trek (all of the series)
Star Wars (yep I've been to the thread)
Stargate
Babylon 5
Final Fantasy (and other cartoony anime)
I am always looking for more, so if you guys have any recommendations, I would love to read them!

Need to make Hunger Games banner....
Openhome, if you like Lord ofthe Rings, you should read The Wheel Of Time.... series... thing. There's tweleve books, but apparently after the tenth they get really bad, because the author went slightly insane, then died after the twelfth, so they were never finished. But its the typical "epic journey to fight evil with a prophecy of one dude's awesomeness and going to save the world goodness!" and very intricate and extensively layed out. They're very good books, I've enjoyed reading them.

Thanks, I'll go get a few. I have seen them, but wasn't sure if they were good or not. I HATE starting a bad series. I always feel guilty about quitting it, but I can't stand to read it. Kinda OCD, I know.

I know. Hehe, mostly normal for book worms.
They're kinda slow, but there's still a lot of action. There's just so much detail and so many characters though, that's why its taken 12 books to cover... 2 years? Sad there won't be any more, since the author's dead. i'm reading the 11th one now, I'll tell you if you should just stop at 10.

Yeah! Dead authors are such a pain. Of course, insane isn't much better -- unless you are Edgar Allen Poe!
