Still on Prisoner of Azkaban, but only because I'm busy packing for camp.

Not that Paper Towns didn't have it's funny parts, because it did -- it's just that a large chunk of it was totally crude humor, and that got old real fast for me. The poetry in it and symbolism from the poetry was really cool, I did appreciate that, but overall as a story I thought it was kind of . . . eh -- it just didn't do it for me. I had high hopes for it because it was #1 on a list for top YA books, and Hunger Games was #2. I was just expecting something better than the Hunger Games and I was let down.dandyvampgirl_13 wrote:^^I thought Paper Towns was hillarious, and it did have some depth to it too, not at all just a book about drunk teenage boys chasing some girl. I recommend it heartily, if you don't mind a lot of teenage-dirtyness.
I would suggest the Hunger Games as well, along with
The Wheel of Time series- an epic good vs evil fantasy tale, I love them.
Ender's Game- sci-fi, about an amazing child general who saves Earth from destruction by an alien menace
Anything by Tamora Pierce- she's an excellent fantasy author!
I'm starting Prisoner of Azkaban today, and any mention of Sirius makes me giggle/cry.
