Well, I grew up around Rotterdam so I love to shop there. Now I live in Leiden, which I find a very beautiful and historic city with a great center, lots of terraces by and even on the canals. There's this one street (Breestraat. You must have heard of that, it's on the Dutch monopoly game board, haha.) that has like 5 or 6 bookstores next to each other and I love going there. It's also a great place to find dresses. Since half the population consists of students, there's a huge demand for party dresses
. There's one shop that I drive by every day that has beautiful goth/middle ages type dresses in every color you can imagine. It's not really something I would wear except for at a costume party, but they are absolutely amazing. I love looking through the windows when I drive by, they have something new on display almost every day.
I've never been shopping in The Haque or Enschede, maybe I should try it sometime.
I hear Breda is a good city to shop as well. I've only been there once and can't really remember except that they had a gigantic H&M.
Edit: Oh my! I just found out that they are opening
three Steve Madden stores in Holland!!! His
shoes are
gorgeous. A little expensive though, but maybe I will treat myself on a pair when I get my Bachelor's degree (hopefully this summer).
